4:48 Psychosis

Ginny dances with him. Her eyes are shining and her hair is fire itself. Ginny dances with him. Her steps are light and in line with his. Ginny dances with him. She is clad in a baby blue dress that shines as the rhinestones in it reflect off the lights of the ball room.

Ginny dances with him.

She dances with him.

The ball room is pure white and glittery. It is made of crystals. A chandelier made of diamonds hangs in the centre of the enormous room. They are dancing and Celena Warbeck is singing in the background.

He can feel his shirt get sweaty as he twirls Ginny elegantly yet again. He twirls and twirls and twirls her a thousand times and he is never satisfied. The seconds pass and go; they don't matter. They never did.

Ginny dances with him.

She doesn't seem sweaty or tired at all. Her white heels click in tune with the music and Colin can't take his eyes off her. She can't take her eyes off him either. She is smiling and he knows that he is smiling too.

She doesn't seem real. Her smile is a little too widely spread on her beautiful face and she feels light and unreal and airy. Her dress flows on her body with ease and she winks at him as he twirls her yet again.

"You're beautiful," he murmurs.

She acknowledges the compliment with a smile and comes closer to him to whisper a sweet 'thank you' in his ear. A shiver runs down his spine and he closes his eyes for a brief moment, relishing the feeling on Ginevra Weasley standing next to him, so close that he can almost kiss her.

But he won't. She was never his to begin with. She has always been others' - Michael's, Dean's, Harry's...But never his. He is Colin Creevey, the classmate, the friend and the one she duels with sometimes during the DA meetings.

But today, she is dancing with him. She is dancing with him and him only and he can do as he pleases. So Colin bends down and kisses her full on the lips and she responds slowly but surely, kissing him back with passion and fury and everything Ginny.

Time freezes. So does he.

It's 4:48 pm and St. Mungo's is crowded as usual.

In the psychiatric ward, a boy with mousey browm hair looks into the room from a large glass window. His brother inside is kissing air and he can't help but sniffle a silent cry.

Wars are not pleasant. They never were.

A page on the door reads:

18 years, Male

Schizophrenia

Wars have disastrous consequences. Dennis knows it better than most.
