Chapter 1 – The Resemblance is uncanny...

John had expected the fingers in the Doritos dip.

He'd expected the head in the fridge.

Hell, he'd even expected the foot in the bottom of his bed.

What he hadn't expected, was the seventeen year old girl, with curly jet black hair, and pale skin. The girl who was currently arguing with his flatmate.

"Well, you idiot, Daddy dearest says that I am to stay with you for the unforeseeable future. Problem?"

She even had the condescending tone perfected.

Sherlock sighed deeply, and placed his hands together in front of his face. His curly jet black hair was ruffled, and he was in his usual blue dressing gown. His dark eyebrows were furrowed together, a clear sign that he was unhappy.

"Yes actually, a rather large problem. Where are you going to be sleeping? Did your Daddy think of that? There are only two bedrooms in this flat." Sherlock smirked, one brow raising slightly higher than the other. The look of pure satisfaction was on his face.

The dark haired girl didn't seem phased in the slightest by his answer. John could only see her back, but her pale hands rose, and sat on her hips, making the cuffs of her dark coat rise up her arms, showing slender wrists.

"The sofa has a pull out bed. Judging by the way the scuff marks on the floor look, I'd say it's used rather often."

John froze. She didn't. She did. She was playing Sherlock at his own game...and she was winning it.

"Let me tell you this, my dearest niece. If Daddy dearest demands that you stay here, where are your

things? Wait, don't tell me. They're waiting in the hall for John to bring them up the stairs."

John looked sternly at Sherlock. He didnt bother fighting him, he'd realized that Sherlock had called this girl his niece. Which was shocking in its own right.

"Well, I suspect that's why they call you a genius then, isn't that right, Uncle Sherly?"

Sherlock grimaced at the name. Then he frowned. Then he spun on his heel, and marched into the kitchen to carry on with his experiment on the fingers in the Doritos dip. Leaving the young girl smirking and chuckling to herself in the center of the living room.
