A/N: Hello, everyone. *Sigh* I have exams. I should not be writing this. But this idea just won't leave me alone.
Okay, so this is based on an Indian TV Show, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein- literally translated as This is Love.
This is obviously an AU. I hope you like it.
Disclaimer- I do not own Skip Beat.

I've noticed that sometimes when we aren't actively searching for something, what we seeks, finds us- Darryl Webb
"Kyouko- chan? Kyouko-chan!"
Kyouko was brought out of her day dream by the sound of Okami's voice.
"Yes!" She responded, still a little dazed.
"Do you need any help with packing?" The kind woman asked from the doorway, gesturing towards clothes strewn all over the room and the half opened suitcase. Kyouko was seating on the floor in between the mess. It was her last day here. From tomorrow, she would be living in a new apartment, ; arranged by the company she worked for, and maybe, just maybe, a new life- one with hope and joy.
Kyouko shook her head, smiling at the women gratefully.
The Taisho's wife came inside the room anyway and started arranging the clothes. "You know, we really don't want you to leave. We have gotten so used to having you around. "
Watching her help with the packing, Kyouko went back to arranging the clothes too. "I don't want to either, but I have to. My future plans, I don't want to drag you or anyone else in them." Kyouko offered her a small smile. "I think I have been a burden to you for long enough. "
The landlady shook her head. "You are not a burden. You never have been and never will be. But I understand that there is nothing I can do to make you stay." She sighed and touched Kyouko's cheek, "Please, take care of yourself."
Then, to cheer her mood, the landlady introduced a lighter subject. "So, I was reading the horoscope again and guess what it says about your day?" The woman had a habit of reading the horoscope each and every day.
Kyouko blinked and raised an eyebrow, encouraging the Okami to continue. Kyouko did not believe in these things herself but she would listen patiently every day to indulge the older woman.
The landlady glanced around the room and found today's paper placed on Kyouko's table, still unopened. She reached over, unfolded it and located the needed page and quoted, "Today, you are going to meet someone who will become very important to you. That person will become the reason for your living, the love of your life. Today, you will fall in love at first sight."
"Isn't that great, Kyouko-chan?" The landlady asked with excitement, happy beyond measures at the prospect of Kyouko falling in love. Really, the girl was Twenty-five year old and she did not have anyone in her life. For some reason Kyouko-chan never dated, let alone have a boyfriend.
Kyouko nodded, giving a small smile and glanced at the wall clock. She would be late for work if she delayed any more. She would finish rest of the packing when she gets back.
She got up, and headed towards the bathroom, swallowing the answer to the landlady's question.
Love of my life, my foot. I am never falling in love. Never again.
Kyouko Mogami sighed for the umpteenth time while driving back home.
The thought of home made her melancholic. Until now, she had considered Darumaya to be her home but now she would be changing it. But Kyouko had no choice either. It was all for the best that she found a new and spacious space to live in and when the hotel she worked for offered her an apartment at a lower price, in one of those celebrity status condo's- she couldn't bring herself to say no. She had heard many actors and businessman such as Hizuri Kuon lives there and she felt a little awkward about it.
After all, she wasn't remotely close to anything in status to them. Though, as a chef she had come to be quite famous around the city and the hotel's owner was quite satisfied with her work- which was why, when Lory Takarada heard of her looking for a place, had offered the newly vacated apartment to her.
Lory Takarada-the owner of the hotel Tokyo Imperial Herals and Lory Majestic Entertainment (one of the most well known entertainment agencies in Japan) was quite an eccentric man, dressing in the strangest of clothes and has been often seen carrying an Anaconda with him. He has been a fan of her culinery skills since he first tasted it and had not wasted a moment before hiring her.
It had been precisely two years since she had started walking there. A very famous hotel in Tokyo and a favourite spot for many celebrities.
Kyouko could not believe her luck when she got appointed as the head chef there. Before then, Kyouko used to work for the Taisho- her landlord. He had taught her many things about cooking and she was eternally grateful to him for it.
Snapping out of her thought, she noticed her favorite ice cream parlour and parked her car on the side.
She loved this place. The very place where she and Kanae Kotonami met each other for the first time. The thought of Kanae brightened her mood and she hurried inside, not wishing to be more late in reaching home than she already was.
It was when she came out of the ice cream parlor, Kyouko's eyes went to the little girl- six or seven years of age- recklessly crossing the street while chasing a puppy. It was at the same moment that a car was coming from the opposite side of the road.
Kyouko's eyes widened with dread as she saw the scene unfold before her. Not stopping to think for one moment, she let the box of ice cream in her hand fall to the ground as she dashed across the street in direction of the little girl.
The girl had caught the puppy and was now standing frozen in the middle of the street, for she had only taken attention of the car.
The next couple of moments were a series of blur. Kyouko arrived at the scene before the car, wrapped her arms around the girl's waist to lift her up in Kyouko's arms and dragged her away from there. Kyouko landed on the top of the side walk, on her knees, the little girl safely secured in her arms.
Kyouko breathed a sigh of relief. Thank Goodness!
"We are okay now," She assured the girl who had her face buried in Kyouko's neck. "We are okay."
She released the girl from her grasp. She was scared beyond measures thinking about what would have happened if Kyouko had not arrived in time.
Kyouko schooled her expression, forcing herself to smile. The girl must be scared and she needed a confident, cool adult- not someone who was scared out of her wit herself.
She had not seen the child's face until now and so, she lifted her gaze to look.
Her world came to a stop.
"Today, you are going to meet someone who will become very important to you. That person will become the reason for your living, the love of your life. Today, you will fall in love at first sight."
A/N:Please review. I am quite nervous about this one.
