Prologue

SIX HUNDRED YEARS AGO

"Helena", the large mirror beckoned from the west wall of the room," I've got something to show you."

"Please if it is another scene of a dwarf pining over the beloved and innocent Snow White doesn't show me!" Helena yelled as she looks outside.

"But you need to see this. It is most important that you do!" The mirror pleads. Helena shook her head stubbornly and feels her saggy and wrinkly skin. She closed her eyes. Damn that insolent mad hunter! He ruined me! She thought to herself.

"Helena…"

"WHAT?" She snapped at it but didn't look.

"She lives."

Helena closed her eyes. Of course, she lives. It's so hard to kill that girl. She put her hand on her temple and spun around facing the mirror that brought all the jealousy and hatred in her heart.

"So she lives. You seem surprised."

"Well get on with it if you're done torturing me with my faded looks."

"She lives and will soon wed a prince." The mirror glimmered and showed Snow White. She was skipping along the corridors of the castle, singing happily. Then the mirror glimmered again and showed the whole castle bustling with wedding activities; she watched servants bring armloads of flower here and there.

Helena shook her head and turned away from the mirror. "I will be happy to attend Snow White's wedding. And I know the perfect gift."

"And what is that, my queen?"

You. You will belong to her."

"But, my queen! I belong to you!"

"Not anymore! All you brought to me is pain and suffering. You live with her and ruin her!" Helena started to sob but then composed herself as she started to go out of her chamber. But she stopped. "I wish that she and the huntsman and their whole clan will suffer like that way I did." She left the room and slammed the door shut.

A flash of light appeared out of the mirror. Upon all the owners that this mirror had, only Helena didn't quite figure it out. He let go of the magic that is concealed in it and it started searching for it's two victims.

A gust of wind brushed through the trees making the air chill. Snow White was fixing her bouquet. The magic went inside her body as she suddenly felt unease in her heart. Like something was wrong. She doesn't like the feeling as it was her wedding day tomorrow. First victim. Mission accomplished.

Another gust of wind went into the middle of the forest and stayed when it felt a huntsman's presence. He was cooking when he heard something. He stood up, dagger on poised, in case a wild animal attack him. The same thing happened to him as he wavered a little at the uneasiness upon him.

The mirror glimmered in happiness as he had seen what he had accomplished. It felt pleasure and it saw something that maybe it should warn Helena about. It's a scene in the reception of Helena dancing and her falling in a window with underneath it is a pile of big, sharp rocks. It saw Helena falling and crashing into it, making a big bloody mess. But it reconsidered. How could a mirror like him stop Helena to go to her stepdaughter's wedding?
