As always, I don't own any of these characters, but I love to have fun with them! Italics are the animals talking to one another. Enjoy!
Bass ponders as he sits under the heat lamp. Jo Friday is sprawled on her back, next to Bass, enjoying the heat. Bass looks over to the couch, at the two humans reclining on it, watching the television. Well, Maura Mom is between Jane Mom legs, sleeping on Jane Mom's chest. Jane Mom's head is resting on the couch cushions, both ladies breathing loudly.
Bass nudges Jo.
Jo, wake up.
Hmmm? What? Dinner?
No, Jo, you already ate.
Ball? Play?
Jo, wake up. I need to talk to you.
Yes, Bass. I'm awake now.
Good, you have to help me.
I want to help Bass.
Good. Look at our Moms Jo. They are very happy together.
Yes, they are Bass.
We need to have your Mom move in here. Permantly.
I would like to live here Bass.
I know Jo. I would like that also. I want you to take a message to Watson for me. OK?
OK, Bass! I can do that.
Listen carefully, Jo. Tell Watson to bump into the glass walls of his home. That will make them think he need a bigger home. Can you remember to tell his that?
Tell Watson to bump into wall. Right Bass. But, Bass? Won't that hurt his nose?
Jo, tell Watson this is part of my plan to get him over here. He won't hurt his nose, I promise.
OK, Bass. I'll tell him.
Jane's Apartment
Watson! Hey, Watson!
Yes, Jo?
I visited with Bass this weekend!
I know you did, Jo. How is Bass?
Bass wanted me to tell you something.
... What is ?
I'm trying to remember, Watson.
Take your time, Jo.
Bass has a plan!
OK, Jo. Do you remember what the plan is?
Yes, you have to bump your nose, Watson.
What?
To get a bigger home, Watson! To move to Maura's! C'mon, Watson, don't you understand Bass plans?
Watson rolls his eyes.
Jo? Can you try real hard to remember what else Bass said?
Yes, Watson. Walk around your home and bump your nose against the glass.
Thank you, Jo. I believe I understand now what Bass has planned.
A few days later at Jane's apartment
"Is he OK, Maura? What's wrong with him?"
"He appears perfectly healthy, Jane."
"Are you sure there's nothing wrong with his eyes? Why is he walking into walls?"
"Well, it could be an indication that it is time to move him to a larger living space."
"Larger? I don't really have space here for a bigger aquarium set up, Maura."
"I understand that Jane. Acutally, since he is still too small to wander loose, we could purchase a small, plastic kiddie pool to contain him."
"Oh, I really don't have floor space for that!"
"Jane, I have plenty of space. We can put the pool at my place."
"Are you sure?"
"Of course I am. Let's go shopping."
Jane leans over Watson's container. "See how much I like you? I'm going shopping for you!"
Awww. Thanks, Mom!
Hours later, Maura's house
"Look how happy he is, Maura."
"Yes, he seems to have adapted very well to the move. He can share the heat lamp with Bass."
"Maura, thank you for letting Watson move in here with you."
Maura walks over, wraps her arms around Jane's neck and kisses Jane. "You know, Jane. Half of your clothes are over here, you could move the other half. If you want."
Jane leans down to kiss Maura. "Do you think we're ready?"
"Oh, I am more than ready to co-habitat with you, Jane. I enjoy having you here."
"Mmmm. I do like being here. And I should think about moving in, right? To take care of Watson."
"Oh, yes. You should move in to take care of your turtle, Jane."
"Watson is a tortoise, Maura. A tortoise."
Both women laugh.
Jo Friday wags her tail and rolls over on her back under the heat lamp. Home.
Bass?
Yes, Watson?
Good plan!
I know!
