"I can't believe it. I am overwhelmed with joy."
Jane said teary eyed while continuously feeling the warmth of his wife's body - his child inside her, their bright future. He's rubbing her back up and down.
"Me too."
He then looked at Lisbon's face. She's teary eyed too. They're just staring at each other, smiling and crying tears of happiness.
He leaned forward and kiss her again.
"When did you know? How long ago? Did you already consult a doctor? I'll accompany you.."
"Wow. So many questions.." she giggles.
"I love you. Both of you. So much."
He put his forehead on hers and continue..
"I don't know what good I've done to deserve you, and to be given such a miracle. Thank you for everyrthing. I was a mess. I was a sinner. I.."
Lisbon stopped him by putting her right hand on his face, her thumb on his lips.
"Hush. Hey. That was in the past. This is our present. And this," putting his hand on her belly, "This is our future."
She gave him again a quick kiss.
"Okay?"
"Okay." He answered while still holding her belly, feeling it, staring at it.
"I'm so happy. This is the best thing that ever happened to me. Sorry I.. I become very much.. emotional. I just.. I just.. I'm so happy.." He laughed with amazement. They laughed with happy tears in their eyes.
Lisbon was overwhelmed with happiness, with love and excitement. Jane continue..
"My child is in here. Inside you. Wow. Imagine that."
"We love you." she answered, rubbing his hand with her while holding her belly."So much, it feels like magic. I can feel our baby developing more love for you."
"I will do anything, everything for the two of you. I give you all the love in the world. You know I will."
"I know you will. I trust you. Since the start."
They stare at each other as if it's there's no tomorrow. Silent. Just staring and savoring the moment. Jane, holding his family.
And then..
He suddenly looked at their friends and family who are dancing, drinking and celebrating.
They are not partying anymore. They are all looking at them. Not very clear because of the distance but they are definitely looking at them. Lisbon noticed them too. Yeah, not clear but she knows they are smiling. Maybe they are intrigued with Jane and Lisbon's gestures just now. They sense there must be something 'more' going on. And they were right. Well, the newlyweds don't know how long they have been there watching.
Jane stand up.
And yell.. "Im gonna be a daddy!"
Then the people began screaming with joy.
"You hear me guys? I will be a father! Teresa's pregnant with our child!"
He's so happy while saying that. Their guests clearly heard what he just said and are very happy for them too.
"We'll have our baby very soon!"
Lisbon is over the moon. She's laughing and teary eyed again, still sitting on the log holding Jane's one hand.
Stan, Jimmy, Cho, Rigsby, Abbott.. a lot of people, they are shouting their 'whoohoo!' 'congratulations!' and their 'you both deserve it!'. Grace, Karen and Lucy giggle. Now all of them are ecstatic with joy.
"Oh my god. You really announce it and shout it out loud." she's laughing.
He goes on shouting.
"This is the best day of my life! You know that people? The best day! hahaha"
Then turned to Lisbon and whisper, "Sorry honey, I suddenly can't contain all the happiness now. Yeah, I really needed to breathe it out. I love you." Then they kissed again.
They are calling them now to go there and celebrate with them. Another reason to celebrate.
"Well uh.. I think we have to get back there and share our good news."
His smile that day, more so that night, is something that was never seen before. Very genuine. Full of happiness and contentment.
"Let's go honey." and she stood up.
"Okay be careful huh, I'm gonna be by your side forever now to make sure you're both safe. All the time now."
"Oh come on! All the time?" she hints to disagree.
They are walking now, heading to the party.
"Of course. No complaints. Im the husband. Im the father. We have a lot to talk about, my questions about our baby"
They continue walking, hand in hand.
Lisbon answered..
"We have the rest of our lives to talk, you know.."
"Yeah.. but I'm excited to hear about that so much.. And uh... the rest of our lives begin later when all the people leave and we started our honeymoon. For now, we spend time with them, but later.. You're mine alone."
"You know what, I like it when you're all authoritarian on me.."
They were welcomed with hugs and handshakes. Everybody was filled with joy.
