CHAPTER 1
"Chiron, there has to be something I can do!" I protested. Chiron shook his head sadly. "Annabeth. This is something you can not do without him!" He argued. I groaned in frustration. "Zeus's master bolt was stolen. No one knows where it is. There has to be something for me to do!" my hands flew wildly in emphasis of my words. "I've been training since I was seven! Am I not good enough or something? Are you really going to let some boy with two days of training tops lead the quest, or a fighter with more years of experience than most kids at camp? Take your pick, Chiron! We don't even know who his godly parent is!" I argued angrily.
Chiron rubbed his temples.
"Annabeth, I'm sorry. You can't lead this quest. If Perseus-" I cut him off. "Perseus? Is that his name?"
"Yes. His name is Perceus Jackson. He's twelve. He is important, I can tell. Grover is his protector," Chiron informed me. My eyes widened. "So that's where he's been all year!" I said, shocked. Chiron nodded gravely. "I can tell there's something in the school, like a monster, but it's really faint. Last time this happened Zeus got mad at me because I was just smelling old monster scent. It was awful. But I feel like something is out to get Perceus," he said. i nodded. Those were the two weeks when only Mr. D was our camp director. "Do you want me to-" I started.
Chiron cut me off.
"Annabeth. There is nothing you can do at the moment. Go practice your archery," he instructed me. I groaned and joined Luke at the archery targets. Neither of us are particularly good at archery, but we can hit a target. I'm much better with a knife.
After practice was lunch. I ate my pizza while wondering what Perceus looked like. Who his godly parent was. Was it his mom or dad? I would have to ask Chiron later. So many questions ran through my head I didnt realize that Luke was calling my name. "Annabeth!" He called. I turned around. "What?"
He chuckled. "Turning into an Airhead Aphrodite on me, Annabeth?" He asked. I rolled my eyes. "No, the exact opposite. I was thinking," I informed him. "What's thinking?" He asked stupidly. "Ha ha," I have a sarcastic laugh at his lame joke and went back to thinking. After dinner was campfire.
Campfire went fast and soon enough we were eating s'mores and walking back to our cabins for bed.
The next day was intense training for capture the flag. Luke, obviously, was on my team, as well as the other Hermes campers, the Demeter cabin, rest of Athena, and Dionysus. All these kids are good fighters. I steered clear of Aphrodite while picking my team members. Those airheads don't know what a sword is unless they get a free lipstick along with it. The next few days went as so and soon enough I was heading to bed two days before Capture the Flag- my personal favorite camp activity.
The next thing I know Chiron is shaking me awake. "What...?" I asked. Chiron hurried me to Half-Blood Hill where Grover lay unconscious and a boy with jet black hair and sparkling ocean green eyes. "Perseus," I heard Chiron say. "He's the one. He must be," I exclaimed. Chiron nodded. "Silence, Annabeth. He's still conscious." Almost as soon as he said that I saw Perceus's eyes roll to the back of his head and he slipped under.
Hey guys, sorry for the short update. I did my best. Also, fanfiction has been acting up lately so... yeah.
Also guys, I'm doing the real chapter in the actual book but in Annabeth's point of view. So whatever happens in the real chapter happens in my story's chapter. Make sense? :P lol
Ciao! xx
