Snow
"I think something's a bit wrong," Blaze mused aloud as the two stood before their creation each with their head tilted slightly to the right. The snowman was misshapen, that much was obvious. The mouth they made from the forgotten M&Ms they'd found beneath Silver's couch had bled out into a rainbow of colors, making the snowman look as if he were screaming out in rainbow pain instead of smiling.
"I think you're right..." The silver hedgehog replied, uncertain that they could save the unfortunate creation before them. "Maybe we should just start over."
"I don't think so," Blaze said, as she stepped forward to make the first move. She began to pluck the runny M&Ms from the snowman's mouth, all the while keeping a dissatisfied look upon her face. "It took us three hours to make this guy. I really should be getting back to the castle and the emeralds as soon as I can. I think we can salvage him…maybe..."
"Oh, uh, right…" Silver said, shuffling his weight from foot to foot. He enjoyed his time with Blaze and savored it best he could. Blaze was different from the other girls within the kingdom. She held so much respect, so much certainty in her every movement and word. She stirred certain feelings in the silver hedgehog feelings he'd never really felt before, he made her feel safe and comfortable and content with himself. He made her proud of who he was and what he could do, just through her simple smiles and praise.
"I-I mean don't worry about it…the kingdom needs you and stuff and that's more important than a s-stupid snowman anyway…"
"It's not stupid, Silver."
"No…I mean…you're a princess and…I understand that you have other things to do, more important things to do and stuff…"
Blaze, sensing the disappointment in her friend's tone, turned with a small smile, "Silver." She nibbled her lip and gave a teasing grin. For a moment, she dropped the regal air. She smiled at him and shook her head with a gentle laugh.
"Blaze…w-what are you doing?"
She took his face in her hands and kissed the tip of his nose. The blush came quickly to Silver's face as he stood, flabbergasted, as the princess crushed the snowman's head beneath her boots and began to rebuild an M&M-less snowman.
"You know what, I think the kingdom can handle itself for another hour," she said, "Now are you going to help or what?"
