A/N: I drabbled again, this time in a dangerously similar vein. EdWin babies for the...well, win.
I do not own Fullmetal Alchemist. If I did, there would be a least one shot of Kimblee singing 'Smooth Criminal.'
This is Ed's favourite time of the day, the time in between opening his eyes and waking up, when the thin curtains let a near invisible blush of light into the room. It highlight's Winry's hair, turning cornsilk to platinum. She isn't quite awake either, but he can see a crack of ultramarine through her eyelids.
She raises herself on her elbows and drops a hand on his back. "You're awake?"
He nods drowsily into the pillow. "Leg was annoying me." His hand swings beside the bed, finger tips grazing the carpeted floor.
She pouts, fair eyebrows knitting. "How many times have I adjusted it in the past week?"
"Five, I think. Granny is a hard taskmistress when it comes to the orchards." He stretches like an insouciant cat. "I think we can blame the rest on you." Ed pulls his head out of the pillow and smirks at her.
Winry looks at him uncomprehendingly for a few sluggish heartbeats, but quickly her face flushes red with understanding. She digs her nails deeper into his back and he lets out a stifled yelp of pain. "You're just plain crude!" she tells him, nose wrinkled. "I can divorce you, remember?"
"You'd have divorced me already if you couldn't mother me over the leg." He can almost see her cheeks glowing, even in the dusky light.
Winry tips her head to the side, the ends of her hair brushing his bare skin. "Don't blame me for the malfunctions. You contributed just as much."
"Well, if the result is those two..." He tilts his head towards the doorway where Theodore and Aurelia are standing, both clasping their communal threadbare teddy. "I'm quite happy to continue."
Theo ambles over to the bed and pulls himself up with practiced ease. Lia, not being quite as tall or quite as proficient at the art of sneaking into their parent's bed as her big brother, grasps onto her father's muscled arm. He pulls her up and his daughter squeaks with happiness as she lands with a thump besides a scowling Theo.
His wife chuckles lightly, gathering her son to her chest to stop him wriggling. "I'll forgive you this time."
They all 'accidentally' sleep in past twelve, until Pinako stomps upstairs and misses Ed's head with a wrench by a hair.
Yes, I have stupid head canons about all the babies. In my mind, Al and Mei's son is called Kenshin, or just Ken. Roy randomly adopted an Ishvalan orphan off the street without telling Riza, and named her Reina.
Yeah.
I apologize.
