A/N: Don't own anything. This is based on a fanart I saw

3rd person POV

Annabeth lay over her daughter's grave crying. Percy stood over her a hand on her shoulder. The gravestone read : Hazel Grace Jackson. Hazel had known she had been named after two of her parents friends who had died in the war with Gaia. The family of Hazel's boyfriend walked to the grave next to her's. Hazel had insisted that she was to be buried next to Augustus Lancaster. it had seemed fitting that as they died on the same day and had their funerals on the same day, except it had all been exactly one year apart.

Annabeth POV

i walk home with percy's arm around me. I'm a teacher and he's an author,so he gets more compassionate leave than me. Hazel had lung cancer. Everyone knew her lungs sucked at being lungs.

a week later

I finally pick up the courage to go in to Hazel's room. On her bed is her diary. I pick it up then leave. she had an amazing last two years and I want the world to know kids with cancer aren't all miserable, waiting around for death.

a year after that

Percy published a book about Hazel meeting Augustus based on her diary under his pen name, John Green after what bacchus called jason. Percy called the book The fault in our stars.
