The sun was as bright as it could be, just like Evans's hair, and the sky was clear, just like her face, but it was a weird occurrence. The sun was shining on winter, nothing you saw everyday. Not that anyone was complaining, though.

James Potter was returning from the North Tower, where he had been for the Divination classroom with his other friends barring Remus, who thought that class was utter rubbish.

He went into the Entrance Hall and out to the surrounding lands of Hogwarts, were he and his friends walked up to their usual hangout place near the lake. The place was strategically chosen, of course, as it was almost two meters from where Lily Evans sat with Holly Darwin, her best friend.

However, the ground was filled with know, so like everyone, they cast a cushion and warming charm and then sat comfortably on the ground. It was a winter wonderland, but the weather was beginning to settle down, and it was worse than the rest of the year. At least the sun was out and shining today.

"Hello, Moony," greeted James to his remaining friend, whom he had not seen since the morning.

"'Lo Prongs, Padfoot, Wormtail," he said to each of them, and then they sat on the ground doing absolutely nothing, talking nonsense, until James saw Evans approaching.

She sat alone on her spot under the willow tree, quietly reading a parchment. Her green eyes were wrinkled in concentration as she read the later, and seeing no danger in his path, James approached the girl he fancied.

As quietly as he could, he walked until he was directly behind her, and smiled as her perfume filled his nostrils. "Hello, Evans,"

"Potter!" jumped Lily as she scrambled on her feet. "What the bloody hell were you doing?"

James shrugged. "Absolutely nothing, actually,"

Lily narrowed her eyes dangerously. "You're up to no good again, aren't you?"

"No," James simply said. "However, would you care to go to Hogsmeade with me next weekend?"

"No!" exclaimed Lily, who then muttered. "You can't just take a hint can't you?"

"Oh, okay, anyways," said James trying to make conversation. "What were you reading?"

"I shouldn't tell you," Lily said hotly, grasping her bit of parchment tightly in her chest, "but it's just a letter from home, no bid deal,"

James looked at her and smiled. "Would you at least go with me to the Great Hall?"

Lily groaned. "The Giant Squid is beginning to look like a realistic option." She said, referring to her comment about the Giant Squid two weeks before.

Then, she gathered her things. "Can't have a little bit of peace anymore, can't I?" she muttered to herself, then shot a glare at James and walked away.

James scratched his head as he went back to his friends. He'd done something wrong again, but he really had tried to be better than before. So, what was wrong with him? Well, he'd try to be better the next time. Maybe he'd ask Marlene what she thought, she was a girl, so she should now about those things.

Or maybe he could ask Padfoot, he was girly enough.
