Raenef's Decision

Well, here you are. My first story…. Hope you enjoy it!

"B-but…!" Raenef the fifth protested as his tutor, Eclipse, sighed as he explained once more. "Master Raenef, we have been invited to join Lord Krayon's formal banquet. It would be rude to decline."

The young demon lord sighed, as he considered whether to attend the banquet or go to Chris's birthday party.

"Augh! Why can't I just go to both?" He exclaimed angrily.

Eclipse shook his head at his lord. Young and so easily scared. Not much of a thinker either. Birds fluttered overhead as the period of silence lasted longer until Raenef finally threw up his hands and announced, "I've decided. I'll go to Krayon's tonight."

Eclipse was surprised. Raenef had made the better decision for his realm rather than just caring about himself.

"Good choice Master Raenef."

"Thanks…."

Walking slowly to his bedroom Raenef thought about his decision.

"Chris is going to be very upset that I didn't come…." Raenef thought sadly.

As he pulled on his formal light blue cloak he noticed something. An edge of a very old worn-out book peeked out from under his bed. He pulled it out and discovered the title "Four-hundred Ways to Solve Hard Decisions".

Interested Raenef flipped the book open. The first page contained, "How to Make the Host Cancel the Occasion".

Raenef shook his head as he moved on to the next couple of pages. "How to Make a Duplicate of Yourself".

"Bingo!" Raenef quickly skimmed through the dusty pages describing the process.

Eclipse paced the hallway outside of Raenef's bedroom.

"I hope he doesn't do anything rash," he thought as he heard a thump and a crash.

"Either I'm going to really regret this or I'm in for a big relief!" Said Raenef to himself as the finale drop of liquid slid down the glass flask and suddenly a big FWOOSH! And a cloud of sparkly green smoke enveloped him.

As the air cleared Raenef stared at himself. Same hair and eyes; same clothes too!

"I did it!" Raenef jumped up and down as his duplicate did the same thing. He slapped his head, as he should of read the fine print at the very last page of the instructions.

"Master Raenef! I'm coming in!" Eclipse shouted as he opened the double door.

Shock awaited him as he saw not one, but TWO Raenefs. Realization soon dawned upon him as he recognized which spell Raenef had preformed.

He had found the book the previous Raenef had used in decisions like these. Poor Eclipse searched everywhere in the huge castle for that single book. The most obvious place he had skipped, deciding that Raenef the Fourth wasn't that careless.

"Well, Master Raenef. Lord Krayon had just announced that Chris is having his party as his palace since Erutis had a hard time deciding," Eclipse explained slowly.

Both Raenefs seemed to have fainted after Eclipse had finished.

Sighing as he undid the spell Eclipse helped the shocked Raenef into his cloak and teleported away; making a mental note next time to say these things earlier before this kind of problem appears.
