The Crimson Dragon Chapter 1: Rent money, a fairy tail fanfic

Hey guys it's Natsu here

So, this is probably one of the worst chapters in the history of The Crimson Dragon. It may also be one of the reasons I haven't got as many followers. You know first impressions and all that. Anyway I wanted to revise it and make it better. Now it's only the first chapter so it shouldn't be that hard to remake and it shouldn't interfere with my new chapters. Now I'm leaving the original version as well for memory's sake and just to show myself that I actually have or hopefully have gotten better as a writer. Lol

Well anyway I'm rambling at this point so enjoy my first ever chapter cookie (revised)

Ch 1: Rent money (revised)

It was a gorgeous, sunny day in the town of Magnolia. The people were bustling in the market, children played in the roads, and the canals were full of activity. The sun shone bright, as if the day had just begun and a new sun would banish away all darkness.

However Magnolia was also filled with chaos and destruction. A powerful destructive force always lay in wait and their name was Fairy Tail. Natsu Dragneel, the feisty fire dragon slayer and legendary Salamander, had once again begun a fight with Gray Fullbuster , the raven haired ice make wizard, for no particular reason, and the sounds of their brawl resonated throughout the entire guild hall.

"Take this ice princess! Fire dragon's iron fist!" Natsu shouted as he swung a fist bathed in his raging orange flames.

"Fine then, bring it ashface!" Gray shouted as he slammed his fist into his open palm to ready his ice make "ice make: hammer!" he summoned a giant hammer of ice that fell down to crush Natsu.

Natsu dodged the ice hammer, unfortunately the other members had not and some were crushed under the ice. Of course they would be okay but it was cold and still hurt like hell. Natsu continued his pursuit as he readied another fist of flaming fury and as Gray created a blade of ice to fight against him a gauntleted fist slammed down on both of the young boy's heads, knocking them out and leaving a comedic and painful looking bruise on both of the top of their heads.

"That's quite enough you two!" Erza scarlet, the scarlet haired beauty and most powerful woman of Fairy Tail, scolded the both of them. The boys however did not reply as they were both still deeply asleep. Lucy Heartfilia and Wendy Marvell looked on in both horror and awe as the two boys were knocked unconscious in an instant then dragged over and set down to rest on the table.

Wendy watched the two sleep as she worriedly twirled her blue hair with a finger "do you think these two are okay?" the young girl who appeared no more than twelve asked the beautiful blonde beside her as she eyed the bumps on their heads.

"These two have gone through a lot worse Wendy, they'll be just fine" Lucy assured the girl with a warm smile "I'm sure they'll be awake pretty soon"

As if on cue Natsu shot awake and looked around, felt his headache and then felt the bump on his head. His eyes landed on Erza as she finished another bite of her strawberry cake. He was about to speak but decided against getting another bump on his head then just sat beside Lucy. Erza smirked inwardly as she took another delicious bite of her favorite treat.

So they sat in silence for a moment until Lucy looked over at Natsu "hey Natsu?"

"What's up Lucy?" Natsu asked.

"My rent is coming up soon, can we please go on a job soon? I'd rather not get kicked out" she said with a pleading look in her eyes

"Yeah sure Luce, I'll go take a look at a few jobs on the board" Natsu replied as he went to look at the request board.

Erza looked at Lucy with a curious look "so, when will you two finally get together?" she asked quite bluntly.

Lucy blushed and gawked at Titania "I don't like Natsu!" she shouted lowly at her.

"Alright, just checking" Erza smiled and went back to her cake, leaving Lucy red as a lobster. She quite enjoyed watching these romances play out. One of the reasons she enjoyed romance novels so much.

Natsu returned in a heated excitement as he slammed the job request down on the table "I've got one!" he announced, waking Gray and causing him to sit beside Erza.

Lucy took the flyer and looked it over "please come save our town from this terrifying monster. Reward: 1,000,000 jewel!" Lucy read out excitedly with a smile gracing her lips "this is more than enough! And I'll even have money left over. Good find Natsu" she thanked her friend as she imagined what she could do with her share of 500,000 jewel. After paying her rent of course leaving her with a still hefty sum of 430,000.

"Here let me see that" Erza said as she yanked the request from Lucy's hands and looked it over "Lucy, surely you must realize how dangerous this could be. The reward would not be so high if there wasn't a high risk" she said as she returned the paper.

Lucy glanced over it one more time with a frown "maybe you're right Erza" she moved to put the job back when all of a sudden, Natsu gripped her arm.

"That sounds awesome! Let's get going!" he shouted as he rushed off toward the door making sure to shout to Mirajane they would be taking the job.

"Natsu let me go!" Lucy cried out as she was dragged out of the guild and forcibly brought to their next adventure.

The town's guild Fairy Tail famous across all of the kingdom of Fiore,famous for their destructive tendencies, was as loud and rambunctious as ever. Fire dragon slayer Natsu Dragneel,aka Salamander, was picking a fight with the ice make wizard Gray Fullbuster.

"take this ice princess." shouted Natsu as he struck gray with a fire dragon's iron fist. Gray slid back a few feet but recovered quickly and slammed his fist into his palm to perform an ice make, "bring it natsu! ice make hammer!". Suddenly a giant ice hammer was falling on top of natsu he quickly dodged and charged at gray,fists aflame, "fire dragon's iron fist!" Gray dodged and jumped back they then glared at each other ready to face off again. "thats quite enough!" suddenly a fist slammed,equipped with a gauntlet, on each of the boys heads.

Erza Scarlet,aka Titania the fairy queen,the scarlet haired requip wizard and strongest female wizard in Fairy Tail,also most terrifying, had just knocked out natsu and gray. "how many times must I tell you two to stop fighting like children" she asked rhetorically knowing they were out cold, she then sighed and picked them up and put them onto a table where Lucy Heartfilia the blonde celestial spirit wizard and blue haired sky dragon slayer Wendy Marvell were sitting. Lucy looked over Natsu and Gray and sighed Wendy then asked "will Natsu and Gray be okay?" she felt genuine concern for the the two boys as they lay on the table unconscious. "don't worry Wendy they'll be fine" Lucy said smiling at the young girl.

Natsu shot up after a few minutes and rubbed the back of his head,"jeez Erza that hurt..". Erza simply closed her eyes and savored her strawberry cake, Natsu glared at her then got off the table top and sat next to Lucy.

"hey Natsu my rent's coming up really soon can we please take a job soon?"

"sure Luce"

Natsu walked over to the request board and looked it over trying to find the right job for Lucy's rent. He looked it over for another few minutes and smiled when he found one and rushed back to the table then slammed the job request down on the table,waking Gray in the process,"found one!". Lucy took the flyer while Gray sat up and sat next to Erza,her eyes widened and so did her smile "one million jewel! yes! and it's just an extermination job "please kill the monster terrorizing us" this will pay my rent and leave plenty extra!". Erza quickly snatched away the flyer and looked it over "Lucy this job obviously involves a dangerous monster the reward wouldn't be so high otherwise", Lucy took the flyer back maybe you're right Erza..". Natsu took the flyer and shouted at the top of his lungs "sounds awesome, I'm all fired up now!", he ran to Mirajane and slammed the flyer on the bar "Mira I'll take this job!" she smiled and wrote it down in the record book, Natsu then ran back to his table and grabbed Lucy's hand "come on Luce!" he then proceeded to drag her out of the guild while she struggled to get free from his hand,"Natsu! let me go!"she screamed as Natsu took her to their next adventure.
