I had this idea when I was watching Lost over again on the boxed set, and I saw Charlie's tattoo. I know this is pretty obsessive, but I might get that tattoo when I'm older:p
Anyway, it's not just that I'm obsessed, though I am, but it's a pretty meaningful saying. Anyway, on with the story!
Disclaimer: I don't own Lost or any tattoos for that matter :p
Living is Easy with Eyes Closed:
He inhaled her sweet scent and basked in her warmth. Tonight had been their first time and he was too amazed too sleep. He'd never been with anyone as amazing as her. He didn't know how she could take care of a child and remain such an extraordinary person.
"Charlie..." she moaned, rolling over in her sleep. Charlie could feel a smile tugging at his lips. He longed to gather her in his arms and kiss her all over.
"Claire," he whispered under his breath, "I love you so much. Because of you, I'm a changed man."
Claire yawned and groggily opened her eyes. "Mmm, what time is it?" she asked, cuddling the blanket closer to her.
Charlie laughed to himself. Even with her hair a mess, she was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen.
He looked up at the moon from the tent flap. "Around two or three in the morning, I'm guessing."
She crawled over to him and rested her head in his lap while he stroked her hair. "I love you. After Thomas left me, I thought that all men were like that, but now I see that he was just a bad seed." She said, smiling sleepily.
"I know what you mean," he said, leaning down to kiss her forehead. "I never knew I could love somebody this much."
Claire shifted her position and supported her weight on her elbows. She traced circles on Charlie's forearm with her index finger.
"He's sleeping deep, isn't he?" she asked, nodding toward the cradle where Aaron slept. Charlie chuckled, "Yeah."
The tent was silent, each enjoying being in each other's company.
"What does your tattoo say?" abruptly asked Claire, glancing at the black lettering that peeked out from under Charlie's T-shirt.
He caught her finger, which was still making circles on his arm, and kissed it. "It says 'I love Claire," he joked.
"No, really!" she giggled.
Their eyes connected with each others and Charlie said, without breaking the eye contact, "'Living is easy with eyes closed.'"
"What does it mean?" she whispered.
"It means that if you go through life being oblivious, everything will be well, for a while at least, but when something goes wrong, you won't know how to fix it. But if you really pay attention and don't just look past the important things, you will be in control."
"Were you oblivious?"
"At first, but then I realized everything that was going on that I had taken no notice of, and if I hadn't of done that, and been sucked in to a world of drugs, alcohol, and rock and roll, I never would have met you."
Claire's eyes began to well with tears.
"Now now, love, don't cry. I got out of that world when we met." He reassured her, wiping the tears away with his thumb.
"That was just so beautiful," she choked. "Sorry, I'm being sappy." She laughed through her tears.
"No worries." He said softly, a smile on his lips. He leaned forward and kissed her with all the passion he'd had bottled up since he'd first met her.
Aaron started to cry, but neither of them heard him, they were too caught up in the moment.
They only pulled apart when Sawyer appeared in front of them, his hair a mess, and his shirt half unbuttoned. "Can ya shut that baby up?" he snapped. "Some of us are tryin' to set a mood here!"
Claire giggled. "Sorry."
How did you like it? Please review, it means so much to me! Peace out!
