A one-shot
Butterflies And Traumas
Blue sky, few white clouds, gentle breeze and green grass. Neither cars nor people around. Just butterflies. Two white butterflies fluttering around each other on the field. And one blonde crouching on his four with an expression of utter curiosity.
Axel was sure he had never experienced this kind of event. Demyx was quiet and staying still, which was basically an impossibility. He had been like that for the last ten minutes since the butterflies flew by him. The redhead had never seen Demyx examine something so patiently. But with the bow of the blonde's back he seemed like a cat ready to attack towards its prey. Though Demyx could hardly be compared to a cat. More like to a rabbit or a squirrel.
And like Axel had assumed Demyx suddenly jumped towards the butterflies when they tried to fly farther.
"Nooo, don't go!" the blonde exclaimed starting to chase the two little insects with arms stretched forward. Snorting Axel stood up from the grass dusting his clothes as Demyx kept chasing the butterflies with a goofy grin on his face. He sure looked like a kid.
"Axel, Axel I got one!" Demyx yelled running towards the redhead with hands clasped together. He stopped in front of the other and opened his hands. Immediately one white butterfly flew off. "Oh no, don't go!"
Axel held out his hand following the little creature with his gaze and soon it sat on his palm.
"Ooh, it came to you, Axel! Wow!" Demyx squealed nearly jumping up and down in excitement when looking at the butterfly. Axel just gazed at the tiny and weightless thing on his palm, slowly cradling its wings. Then the redhead glanced at Demyx who sparkled visibly. With a slight smirk and a chuckle Axel released a flame that covered his palm.
Where on his palm had just mere seconds ago been a beautiful and frail butterfly was now a tiny pile of something black and weird with a little cloud of smoke rising from it. And Demyx was horrified. Axel grinned in triumph and tilted his hand so the remains of the butterfly fluttered down to the grass slowly. And now Demyx was even more horrified and his eyes were starting to water as he gaped at the ex-butterfly. The he turned to Axel with teary eyes.
"Axel, you… you… you horrible man!!" With that the blonde ran away crying. The redhead looked after the other with a bored expression. And he had only one thought occupying his thoughts. 'Damn, Luxord was right: he does run like a girl.'
End.
