Partners

This is my first Haven story. I've only seen four episodes so I hope I got the characters right. I fought hard not to get hooked on this show and I failed, lol. I hope that it makes sense. Takes place the day after Audrey quits the FBI.

It's Audrey's first day of work after quitting the FBI. This is a POV for Audrey and a POV for Nathan before going to work.

I don't own anything or anyone in Haven, but if I did...Audrey and Nathan would get together soon.

Audrey's POV

Audrey sat at the table and drank her coffee. Today would be her first day at the station since she quit the FBI. She was now working for Chief Wournos. Today was her first day as Nathan's real partner. That brought a smile to her face.

Nathan was the first real friend she'd had in a very long time. He'd been there for her a lot since she'd come to Haven. She knew that she could count on him and she trusted him with her life. That was the most important thing to her. You have to trust your partner with your life.

She was actually happy to be free from the FBI now. She could stay in Haven and work, but still investigate the mystery of the Colorado Kid. She could do this without Agent Howard breathing down her neck.

She finished her coffee and walked out the door to go to work. She'd need to fill all the paper work out before Nathan came in. That way she could go out on patrol with him when he came in to work.

Nathan's POV

Nathan sat at his kitchen table and drank his black coffee. Today Audrey would start work as his equal, his permanent partner. He was happy about it, he really was. Now he didn't have to wonder and dread the day the FBI yanked her out of Haven. He could still look forward to seeing her everyday at work.

Nathan never really had any friends until she showed up in Haven. Sure, he got along with everyone now, but that was because of his job, and his dad. Growing up, everyone called him a freak or other awful names. But Audrey never thought of him as anything but who he was.

She was also the only person that he's been able to feel since he stopped being able to feel anything. He didn't know what it meant, but he enjoyed the sensation of her touch on his skin. He wasn't sure if he should tell her or not. He was afraid if he did, she'd never touch him again.

He looked at the clock. He wanted to get to work early in case she needed help with all of her paper work. He quickly finished off his coffee and left his house. He was actually happy to be going into work today.
