Bot many people knew Mike Chang was really Mike Wayiner. He was the result of a drunk night out between Gabriella Chandler and Justin Wayiner. Both Gabriella and Justin's parents kicked them out of their houses forcing them to live with Justin's Aunt Maylene.
The night Mike was born, Gabriella died. At night Justin would cry,"God, please help Little Mike. Let him know I love him. Let him know his mother would have loved him"
All was fine until Mike turned a year old. That year Maylene found out she had stage four skin cancer. They told her she would live at least another year, but that wasn't the case. Three months after the diagnosis, Maylene died.
Justin only had Mike by himself for only a month when he realised he couldn't do it. So, he took baby Mike to his old high school and left him on the front steps.
The next morning, Mike was found a sleep behind Room 114. The cops took the boy, and he was placed in a foster family. When he was three he switched families and again when he was six.
His new parents, Angela and Jared Chang, asked him if he like his new home. Mike smiled and said, "This is my temporary home. It's not where I belong. Windows and rooms that I'm passin' through. This is just a stop, on the way to where I'm going. I'm not afraid because I know this is my
Temporary Home."
A year later Angela and Jared fully adopted Mike, taking him out of his temporary home.
When Quinn was sixteen she gave birth to her baby girl, Autumn. After babygate came out, Quinn went to live at a halfway house for teen moms.
In her little bedroom, she would clutch Autumn to her chest and whisper, "Someday we'll find a place here in this world
This is our temporary home
It's not where we belong
Windows and rooms that we're passin' through
This is just a stop, on the way to where we're going
I'm not afraid because I know this is our
Temporary Home."
When Quinn was eighteen, she move out of the house to share an apartment with a friend from the house, Bailey, and her son Eli. They had escaped their temporary home.
