Then:

Percy POV:

"...So, that's what happened in Olympus," I concluded my story. Everyone in camp had crowded me, Thalia, and Annabeth when we got back, demanding to hear what had happened. Grover had come back later, having passed out on Olympus due to the amazing news that he would be on the Council of the Cloven Elders.

Thalia had a sly smile on her face. "But you forgot one thing, Percy."

I groaned inwardly. "It was nothing…." I tried protesting.

"Say it!"

"No."

"Say it!"

"No."

"Come on Kelp Head, say it!"

"I said no!"

"SAY IT! SAY IT! SAY IT!" By this time, all the campers had started chanting with Thalia...and Annabeth? Even she was against me?

I winced at the noise, before finally giving in. I had to yell at the top of my lungs to get a word in edgewise. "Okay, fine! I was offered immortality, okay?! And I turned it down!"

You could hear a pin drop in the camp.

A few silent moments passed….

"YOU DID WHAT?!"

"Man, you could conduct these guys, they say everything together…." I mumbled under my breath as everyone started yelling at me in unison.

Fifty years later:

Third Person:

"On Olympus, as a reward for his heroic deeds, Perseus Jackson was offered immortality by the gods, and he-" Chiron's story was cut off by a girl from Ares.

"Accepted it!"

"No, he-" Chiron tried again.

"Became the God of Time!" Another demigod, this time from the Apollo cabin.

"No, he-''

"Pranked every god in the room and was thrown off Olympus!" Everyone started snickering at the last demigod's comment, which(not surprisingly), was a son of Hermes.

"No! He turned it down for another demigod, Annabeth Chase," Chiron finally said, exasperated.

Everyone went silent in disbelief.

Wait for it…Wait for it….Chiron thought.

"HE DID WHAT?!"

"Still the same after all these years, still the same…." Chiron mumbled. "Always the same reaction."
