Virginia (Pepper) Potts knows many things.

Most of the things she knows revolve around the running of Stark Industries and Tony Stark himself. Recently, however, her knowledge has expanded to encompass the other members of the Avengers.

She knows about Clint's habit of crawling through the air vents, and his strange tendency to spy on people from said vents ("Did you know that you snore?").

She knows Natasha likes to throw knives at people just to see how they'll react ("You shouldn't freeze up like that. It makes you an easy target.").

It was common knowledge that Bruce was perfectly quiet and Zen until you put him in a lab with tony ("That was an interesting reaction. I wasn't expecting it to explode like that." "Let's do it again!").

Thor was absolutely hopeless with anything technological (Man of Iron, what is this demonic contraption!?" "It's a toaster…").

She also knew that Steve was always up at the crack of dawn (I like to have time for my morning run ma'am." "Oh, so you're not the one stealing Thor's Pop-Tarts?" "…").

Yes, Pepper Pots knew many things. This, however, was not something she was familiar with.

"AH! HELP! I'VE FALLEN" Tony screeched from the floor dramatically.

Though, to be fair, who really expected to find six full grown adults playing Hot Lava?

"Fear not Man of Iron! I shall rescue you!" Thor hollered, hopping clumsily from the couch onto one of the many pillows strewn about the floor.

"Hey, it's my turn to play savior," Clint muttered before tackling Thor into a chair. In the ensuing chaos, only Pepper, a chuckling Steve, and a smirking Natasha noticed Bruce casually bypassing the arguing duo to help a still dramatically flailing Tony onto a cushion.

"My hero!" Tony mock swooned, batting his eyelashes playfully. Clint and Thor finally stopped bickering to give Bruce eerily similar wounded looks.

It was when Bruce SMIRKED and opened his mouth to answer Tony with something appropriately cliché that Pepper knew she had to intervene.

"What's going on here?"

Six pairs of eyes instantly swiveled to her position by the door.

Thor gasped, eyes widening in horror.

"Lady Potts! She has fallen into the burning lava of doom! Fear not Lady Potts, for I, Thor, shall rescue you from your terrible fate!"

Pepper stood stock still, stunned, as Thor lunged in her direction-

- only to be T-boned by a cackling Clint.

She stared blankly for a moment. Then, under the amused gazes of Tony, Bruce, Steve, and Natasha, Pepper calmly turned, and exited the room. Some things, she decided, didn't need to be known.
