Dreaming…

Artemis is no ordinary child; therefore nothing about his dreams should be ordinary. This is a story about his dreams, and also has some intervention by the fairies. Yeah. I don't own anyone, though Artemis is highly tempting.

He mumbled something. His mind was blank, until, a searing blinding white came in front of his eyes. There was a light-bulb above him. It was swinging. It was beginning to get warmer than he found comfortable. He blinked a tear away from his eye and opened them to the harsh light. Things slowly began to come into focus, the entire screen sliding left to right. It formed into an image of a girl. A short girl. She was pretty, in a tomboy-ish sort of way.

She was slim, not anorexic, slim and short. Odd combination. She was gazing down at him with an intense chocolate gaze.

"Artemis…" she whispered into his ear. He felt her breath tickling his skin. And vanished. The wind swooshed and he heard her voice floating back to him, "follow me…" Just then, he noticed his surroundings. He was in a woody forested area. There was a waterfall nearby. It looked disgustingly cheap and plastic, something that would normally make him gag, but now, he was solely focused on the girl… brown hair, brown eyes, Holly, no, that wasn't right. Holly was a Christmas plant, not a gir—ah, her name was Holly. But where did he know her from? Where? But now was not the time. Artemis was racing through fields without looking where he was going.

Suddenly, he found her, sitting under a tree, smiling. He walked over to her, glancing at his reflection in a nearby pool of water. He looked as usual, pale, and vampirish, his eyes as hollow and deep as the sea, as powerful as the sky.

Slowly, he sat down beside her. He looked into her brown eyes and smiled. It was amazing how, this girl, whom he didn't even know (or so he thought) attracted him like a magnet. Slowly, he pulled her close, arm around her waist. He lowered his gaze to hers and his lips touched hers, in a moment, was so powerful, a shock, like lightning, or like friction filed his lips and his body was warm. And then it stopped. And when he opened his eyes again, it was gone. He was in the white place again. "Liked what you saw?" Asked a detached voice.

"yeah." He mumbled.

"want more?" it tempted.

"yes." Artemis said.

"well, you can't have her…" and it laughed. It coldly laughed, before pitching him into a pit full of his worst nightmares, failure, loneliness, death… He saw himself alone, friendless, no one was there with him, they shied away with contempt. It was horrible. He was reliving his worst memories. He remembered when he woke up and couldn't find his father. Even though he wasn't close to his father, he was a strong figure of influence in his family. He remembered his fathers death, and his mothers cardiac arrest… All of it was coming back… Holly, Foaly, Root, Mulch… who were they? When all of a sudden, he saw it…

Fairies… in a flash all his adventures with them came rushing back, along with some feelings…

He sat up in bed panting, pouring with sweat. He was scared. He had never felt this before, not terror, not love…

This is based on the quote by Dumbledore, whom I do not own…

"Do not wake him Severus, in dreams, we have a world all our own. We can fly over the highest mountain, or plunge into the deepest sea…" or something like that. Nevermind. REVIEW!
