The one thought that splashes in your head when you can feel your breathing growing faster and shakier ; can anyone else hear it? His shallow gasps of breath pierced the air and the only other thing heard were the robins that came chirping at six o clock every morning. Looking around he could see that nothing had been moved or tampered with, that everything stood in its place while he was asleep. He couldn't get his mind off the fact that his dream felt like it had actually taken place forty-five minutes before his eyes opened, but he gave his mind the benefit of the doubt.
He pulled the blanket off, and turned his body sideways, parallel to the one that was next to him. Running his finger from shoulder to rib cage, a smirk emerged on his face and he pressed his lips to the back of her neck. The bad dream was gone for the time being.
"You just don't get tired, do you?" Katherine said with a grin, eyes still shut.
"You said you could outlast me, I thought I'd just test your endurance." He managed to get the words out in short bursts as his lips couldn't find their way off her smooth skin.
"Men always have this ego that doesn't die no matter how many times they've been proved wrong."
Grabbing both of her hands, fingers intertwined, he climbed over her, coming face to face with her, and held her arms pinned back against the bed. Leaning down and beginning to make out with her until he came up for air, her eyes now opened up as though she was in a daze.
"What would you like for breakfast?" he asked while letting go of her hands.
"One hundred and twenty seven years and you don't change one bit."'
"Who says I haven't changed?" He bite her lip and pulled, leaving only but a smirk on her face. Jumping off the bed and heading for the kitchen, she leaned back and let out a sigh.
The crisp autumn air blew through the open balcony doors and whispered a sign of reckoning into the air. An egg omelet with rich spices acquired over the years was Stephen's specialty, and sometimes he surprised himself by how good it was. He never tried to sharpen his cooking techniques, but they just became better over time.
"You know you have a bad habit of not staying still in your sleep Katherine."
"And you Stephen can't take a hint even if its tossing and turning" her eyes rolled and her jaw chomped down.
Ever since Elena had left Mystic Falls with Alaric and Jeremy, anything supernatural just stood away. Not that they had taken any of it with them, but with mystic falls being boiling pot for creature that was power hungry, the Gilberts leaving town had put drama to a halt.. for now at least.
Edit: more coming soon
