The awkward, derpy fox and yellow, chubby chicken made their way to the top of the hill when Todd turned to face Jeffries, "So how much longer is it?"

"Not too far." Jeffries replied, riding atop Todd's back as if he was a mount, "Trust me, you'll love it."

Todd and Jeffries arrived at the top of the hill and gazed deep into the night sky. The chicken hopped off the fox's back and Todd blinked up at the sky, "You know, I've always wondered if all those stars up there are just aliens coming out to say hello to us every night."

"That's not what I was gonna show you, look down." Jeffries replied. The fox did as he was told and saw a large, quartz crystal. It was about as big as an average human's hand, "See that crystal? I found it by the river. Since I couldn't find any sort of fancy gems like diamonds or rubies or emeralds, I thought of the next best thing. I hope you like it."

"It's so beautiful..." The fox replied slowly, his large eyes filling to the brim with tears.

Todd then sniffled and choked out a sob, a hot salty tear running down his snout. Jeffries watched as the tear made it's way onto the tip of Todd's nose and glimmered in the moonlight before dripping directly onto the crystal.

Jeffries noticed the fox's tear and put her wing around his back, rubbing it slowly, "Are you okay, Todd?"

There was a long silence between the fox and chicken before Todd wrapped his arms around Jeffries and hugged her close. Todd aggressively nuzzled Jeffries as joyful tears streamed down his muzzle and waterlogged her feathers. In response, Jeffries started licking Todd's tears off his muzzle and nose with her tongue as if she was a fellow fox.

"Oh, Jeffries...I...I love you so much!" Todd sobbed with joy, giving the chubby chicken a sloppy lick of affection in return.

"So do you like it?" Jeffries asked, cuddling the adorkable fox while gazing deeply into his eyes, "It's an engagement crystal."

"Like it?" Todd laughed, wiping a final tear that was rolling down his muzzle with a paw, "I absolutely love it! It's the best gift anyone's ever given me! Oh Jeffries, I just wish this night could last forever."

"Me too, Todd." The chicken replied as she snuggled close to the fox, "Me too."

As the two cuddled, Ransome and Sims watched in horror from a nearby bush. There was a dead silence before Ransome spoke to Sims, "We'll never speak of this again."

"Agreed." Sims replied, flabbergasted at the sight of their sister getting romantic with a fox.

The end.
