Her feet found purchase easily on the iron fence, and once she jumped over the edge, she peeked over to hold a hand out to help the boy behind her up.

Alya laughed when he finally tumbled beside her, and she turned to gaze up at the sky; it obviously contained two superheroes.

"We'd arrived in time!" Alya called out, hand still intertwined around Nino, and her other hand catching a nice video of the two superheroes on patrol running past each other.

She leaned back, brushing her arm casually over Nino's side as she saved her video with a happy, little hum.

Alya's beautiful; her eyes lit up like a bright light in a cave, and all Nino feels like doing is pressing closer, tracing that light to its source.

He doesn't, but his smile makes up for it, twitching up to join hers in bright joy.

Alya and Nino both startle to life when the sound of sirens come closer, and Nino can't help but curse softly as Alya tugs his hand, "We should run for it."

Nino muttered, "You're crazy."

Alya beamed, "What's a better story than to tell our kids that we lived as free as we could?"

"Ours?" Nino tightened his fingers over her hand yet couldn't help but run after her as she climbed back over the fence, now one handed and a whole lot slower, and Nino's hand couldn't help but tighten over his once more out of fear that he'd fall.

Nino made it down over the fence just behind her, and she bolted; he was pulled along as he tried to keep up, not feeling quite prepared for this.

He'd never been all that athletic, but all that he could think of was staying close to her and trying to get away before someone pulled them rightly apart.

They barely made it a block and a half since they were running together, and while being pulled close to a cop car and cuffed up wasn't pleasant; it was rather rough.

It ended up with them side by side in the backseat, her eyes lit up under the delicate blue of the cop car before she was shoved in, and all that he could see was that same old freedom that often got his heart in trouble whenever she ran off for another scoop.

"You know that we're too young and beautiful to go to jail." Nino couldn't tell if it was a joke on her tongue or if it's somehow her attempt to make the cops change their minds.

She received an eyeroll.

"We didn't know any better." She's laughing, "And wouldn't you have done the same?"

She couldn't breathe out another question among her silly joy as she leaned against Nino's side, trying to get out another question, as if strung on by some sense of adventure that Nino's not aware of.

The door slammed on her side as the officer ignored her when she asked for a light; he didn't provide one for her.

Alya scooted closer to Nino, "So how are you feeling, soldier?"
"The things you get me into." He muttered, but it didn't come out as dry as he'd intended.

"Sorry." She muttered in his ear though it comes out more as a giggle than an actual apologetic mumble.

"Are you high on the adrenaline?" Nino couldn't help asking as he was still riddled in more nerves than he could count as he knew that her parents would really not be happy with him, and yet he found himself wanting to lean closer to her enthusiastic side.

"Probably, but I still think that any extra scoop can always help." She leaned closer, looking positively pleased with herself.

"Alya," Nino muttered, but he couldn't tell if he was reprimanding her or if it was just affection that left his tongue for her.

"Nino," She muttered back with just enough sarcasm that Nino smiled back at her reply.

"You don't normally test fate like this, right?" He had no idea if she did these kinds of things when he wasn't around; she normally ran straight after Akuma attacks, but did she normally trespass?

"May be." She leaned back, and her playful smirk that was supposed to make her look more like a daredevil, just made her look cuter, almost innocent.

Nino couldn't help but lean closer to her, "Do you think we'll be sent to jail?"
"Nah," Alya's eyes sparkled, "They probably are just giving us a warning." She whispered right into his ear.

Was it crazy to fall in love with her courageous attitude, with her eccentricity, and yet he couldn't help but adore her?

Nino was normally not the sort to go along with anything like this, but something in Alya had left him transfixed to just remain by her side.

"I hope it's only a warning drive." Nino muttered back.

"Think of how awesome this was." Alya teased back.

"Really? We got caught in hardly any time at all." Nino murmured into her ear.

"Yeah, but we had fun, didn't we?" She tried to shrug past the handcuffs held tight over her wrists, making them slide up her back.

"I guess so." He wasn't sure if he'd had fun on this adventure at all, but seeing her so animated felt better than whatever he'd expected.

Alya curled up closer, "You know, I wouldn't mind if we did something more up your alley than mine next time."

The thought of a next time lit up Nino's veins with a sort of joy unparalleled and that definitely didn't feel like it belonged in this situation.

"Sure." It meant a quiet afternoon, surrounded by music; that sounded so much better than the fear of being arrested.

Alya leaned just close enough to peck his cheek, "Thank you for humoring me. Most people wouldn't."

"No problem." Nino mumbled, tongue feeling a bit tied up.

Alya beamed against his side.

She stood waiting after the ride, hands recently uncuffed as they both waited for their parents, and Nino couldn't help but wish that he could just grab her hand in his own; would that be okay after today?

Alya moved her hand as if sensing what he wanted and intertwined their fingers, "Thank you."

"For what?" Nino muttered quietly, just for her ears.

"For everything." She pressed closer to him, only dropping her hand when her parents arrived, already scolding her.

Nino grimaced though felt relief when his mother didn't say much to him as she walked him home.

Still his eyes found Alya, and he couldn't help but want to spend another moment with her regardless of how crazy all of this was.
