I know is is short, sorry. It's set in a world where Zoe and Max didn't get back together. Hope you enjoy. Xx
"Max?" Zoe opened the door of the houseboat, revealing a rather wet looking Max.
"Zoe." Max replied, "It's Valentines day."
"Come in, you must be freezing. And why aren't you wearing a coat? It's chucking it down." Zoe said, her insides twinged, what had ever made her dump him. But it was too late now, or maybe not? Max gratefully followed her through the door, looking like a drowned puppy.
"Zoe, what's Maxwell doing here?" Dylan asked, not even looking at Max.
"I don't know, but he doesn't deserve to get hypothermia." Zoe replied, motioning for Max to follow her into her bedroom, hoping for a bit of privacy.
"So, what are you doing here?" Zoe asked, closing the door behind them.
"I miss you Zoe, and I brought you your valentines present." He said, handing her a black box.
"Max, you shouldn't have." Zoe said, she wished she'd never gone away.
"Well I did, so open it." He said, looking down at the box in Zoe's hands. He crossed his fingers, hopefully it would be enough to win her back.
She opened the box, inside was a diamond ring. White gold, studded with small diamonds and one huge one, right in the middle. He knelt down on one knee.
"Zoe Hanna, will you marry me?" Max said, hoping the ring would be enough. He'd spent all his savings on it, he was saving to buy a house, or a car, but Zoe was worth far more than both of them put together.
"Max, I'm sorry, for everything I've put you through. You're only young, and this is your first love. It's not my first love, but it's the most important one to me. I'm so sorry Max, for all the times I've hurt you. So it's time to make it up to you." She slid the ring onto her finger, and enveloped her fiancée in a hug, before kissing him passionately. The pattering sound of rain on the window stopped, as if everything was right in the world.
"I love you." Max said, his hands gripping her firmly, as if he would never let go.
"I love you too." Zoe replied, pushing him onto the bed and ferociously ripping off his clothes.
Dylan sat drinking coffee on the sofa, watching the TV, finally the rain had stopped and he could hear it without the volume on full. However his peace was soon interrupted by the sound banging. He sighed and raised his eyebrows at Dervla.
