I looked up at the grey sky and shivered, pulling my scarf tighter around my neck, the weather was changing, it was going to snow I could tell. I glanced across the bustling Times Square, trying to catch a glimpse of the man I was meeting. I'd been on two dates with Jonni Wedge so far, we met on the flight out to New York two weeks ago and we happened to be on the same flight home. He was tall, well tall enough, I'm kind of short and handsome obviously, he had a cheeky smile that was crooked, higher up on the left hand side, and every time I saw it my heart fluttered.

I was just tugging my coat closed when I saw his dark hair pop up over the crowd, his face lit up when he saw me and he pushed his way through to get to me, sweeping me up in a huge hug when he finally reached where I was standing.

'Rhia you look half frozen' He laughed when he put me down, I mumbled something intelligible before grinning up at him, my face ecstatic.

'So where you taking me this evening Mr Wedge?' I asked and he grinned down at me,

'It's a surprise...come on.' He laughed grabbing my hand and pulling me through the crowd, across the square, I looked up at the back of his dark head and smiled to myself, my heart fluttering.

'I really think you're the one...' I whispered to myself so he wouldn't hear. A single snowflake landed on my outstretched arm with the hand being clutched tightly by Jonni.

'Hey Jonni...it's snowing...' I called so he'd hear me above all the noise. He stopped suddenly to look back at me...grinning and brushing the snow out of my hair as it began to settle there.

'Perfect for the activity I have in mind,' He grinned, pointing to the corner of the square where a large ice rink had been set up for the winter.

I baulked and froze as he tried to drag me along behind him again.

'But Jonni...I can't balance...I'll fall...' I stammered. He laughed quietly and pulled me in for a cuddle before pulling back and brushing the hair off my face.

'What are my arms for huh?' He whispered before kissing the top of my head briefly, 'Now come on I haven't been skating since I was little.'

I laughed and pulled my scarf tighter around me as the chill started to creep in. Jonni pulled me over to the desk and we both pulled on ice skates sitting on the bench next to the rink. He stood up and offered me both his hands, gently helping me on to my unsteady feet. I wobbled and fell forwards in to him and felt his chest move as he laughed softly. He helped me waddle over to the ice before stepping on and helping me down to join him. I grinned up at him as he took me hand and started gently pulling me across the ice. I laughed out loud as I felt the exhilarating feeling of gliding.

'You're so cute when you smile,' Jonni smiled back, 'I like hearing you laugh...'

'Jonni..I...I...' I mumbled, blushing red at the thought of telling him what had crossed my mind many times since our meeting. He paused, allowing me to glide closer to him and look up in to his beautiful eyes.

'What is it...' He asked, placing his cool hand on my burning cheek.

'Jonni...I think you really are the one...' I said quickly, turning my eyes away from his as his smile reached them. He used his hand on my cheek to guide my eyes back to his.

'Rhia...' He whispered, 'I feel the same way...I...I...I love you Rhia.' He whispered, drawing his face closer to mine. I leaned up a little, closing the gap between our lips. His lips were soft and warm and gentle on mine. I pulled back after the briefest of kisses and whispered back,

'I love you too Jonni Wedge.' He grinned his gorgeous crooked grin at me before leaning down to kiss me again as the snow began to settle on New York city.
