I've been writing short fics lately, haven't I? Oh, well...
Without Him
Kongming, why?
Why did you have to die?
We men of honor and justice stand here, stand in this cold, barren land, hoping that, somehow, we can fulfill our loyalties to the Han and crush those rebel bastards…
But you are no longer with us.
The nation of Wu has stolen one of the most prosperous territories in China, and, like their traitorous, vile forefathers they refuse to surrender to the glorious Han. They claim that "it's better to live than to die for a fallen dream."
As if Those Bastards understand what dreams are!
I don't care how many of us have to martyr ourselves for the glorious Han. And, yet, those Wei liars love to tell our Shu forces that more than sixty percent of the population is dead because of this war.
That's a lie. That must be a lie.
It's a conspiracy… They want to break our morale and let evil win.
I can't let that happen.
Honor must prevail. Justice must prevail. Reason must win over madness.
No matter how many brave sons of Han fall, we must make certain that Han will prevail.
Otherwise, how can we live with ourselves if traitors are allowed to rule over the people?
We sons of Han rose, long ago, to destroy the nation of Qin.
Qin Shihuang and his son were tyrants. They tortured countless people and destroyed so many ways of life… Qin Shihuang was a monster, and we sons of Han had to annihilate him. In the name of China, we killed him and restored order among us all.
Wang Mang then came, thinking that he could fill his hunger for power, but our great Guangwu Emperor defeated him and retook the throne. Those who would dare disrupt order, those who would dare spread chaos throughout the land, and those who dared think that they could seize power for themselves were all defeated. Han would reign supreme…
But now it's come to this.
The Cao traitors have seized control of the north.
The Sun traitors have grabbed the rich farmlands of the southeast.
And, thus, we sons of Han hide here, in Sichuan…
But we will hide no longer!
Your sacrifice, beloved teacher, was not in vain!
Today, we march! Today, we shall dive forward! Today, we shall plow through those traitors of the north and east, and we shall force them all to bow down before the glorious Han!
So let us go, my Han brothers. Let us go save China once again!
BluePhoenix, if you are reading this, then you've probably realized by now that I detest Jiang Wei's blind pursuit of restoring the Han. He let so many people die just to make sure that the Han would be restored. At least he could have made tactical decisions and made that dream a reality, but, no, he failed miserably. Jiang Wei has no idea how many people were sacrificed all for his "glorious Han."
