I have a horrendous sense of humor... :D
Disclaimer: If I owned Chronicles of Riddick, I wouldn't be on - I'd be taking advantage of Riddick, as his owner. :) Also, I've got no money and none to make off of this, so really I'm just wasting my own time...
Standing in formation as they were expected to do, the soldiers watched uneasily as the Riddick faced off against their Lord Marshal. Sure, this was their life – violence and dominance spats, but this was different. Their Lord Marshal had taunted the Riddick with a faded version of the woman he once loved, and the Riddick proved himself very angry at this, even moreso when the Lord Marshal threw his cold beloved into the spiked pillar. The violence escalated in the fight, and Lord Vaako took advantage of the situation, about to assassinate the Lord Marshal.
The Holy Half-Dead Lord Marshal had other plans, and as he moved his soul before his body across the room, he was surprised to find the Riddick was waiting for him, and stabbed him in the head. The cavernous room was silent, aside from Dame Vaako's complaint.
One of the soldiers pondered the situation idly, and watched the Riddick pick up the dying woman. He frowned, and looked at the spiked pillar that had been her demise. Aware that he was breaking formation but doubting that anyone would have a problem with it, he quietly asked, "Why do we even have a spiked pillar?"
A comrade beside him snickered. "So the Lord Marshal can kill negotiators without getting his hands dirty," he answered under his breath.
"I thought it was a decoration," said another sarcastically from behind them.
Their morbid humor did not fall on deaf ears. The Riddick glared at them, but decided to deal with them later. He laid the cooling body of Kyra on the floor, and collapsed, his adrenaline draining, into the nearest thing in the room that resembled a chair – the Lord Marshal's throne. He ran a hand down his face before he covered his eyes and murmured, "You keep what you kill."
The soldiers gulped. They'd be the first to die in the new Lord Marshal Riddick's reign, and they knew it.
