A.N. - Just a little something I thought up for Harry's Birthday. All characters are not mine.
Harry was currently sitting around the Weasley's table eating breakfast with them and his friend Hermione. For the first time all summer he was quite happy.
Today was his sixteenth birthday and his aunt and uncle were more then happy to let him spend it at the Weasley's so he was out of their hair for a few days.
Shortly after breakfast their friend Luna and her father arrived. Harry was surprised but glad to see her. After Sirius' death a month ago she had been a great help in the days after.
"Hi Harry. Happy Birthday." Luna said coming over to him.
"Hi. Thanks. I didn't know you were coming?" He said, smiling at her.
"Well Daddy and Mr. Weasley are kind of friends and Hermione knows we're friends and since we don't live that far she asked if we wanted to come."
"Well I'm glad you came."
"It must be nice that you were able to get away from your aunt and uncle's house to celebrate?"
"Yeah. My uncle couldn't say yes fast enough when I asked." He said, chuckling a bit.
"I'm sorry." She said softly and took hold of his hand.
"I'm used to it by now and thankfully now it's for only one more year. Although with school, it will only be a few months."
They noticed that everyone else had moved outside so Luna put her gift down and then they went outside as well. They noticed that Remus, and Tonks had also arrived.
After more birthday greetings the kids ran around and played games while Mrs. Weasley cooked lunch and the other adults watched the kids and talked. After losing Sirius, Remus was worried that Harry would lose himself to grief but seeing him with his friends set his mind at ease. He could clearly see being with his friends gave him other things to do and think about.
"Lunch is ready."
Everyone stopped what they were doing and went over and sat at the table. Harry made sure he sat next to Luna.
"Come on Harry it's time for presents." Hermione yelled to him after lunch.
Harry turned and walked into the house. Hermione led him into the living room where everyone was sitting and his presents had been placed on a chair. He sat down on the chair after putting his presents on the floor.
Mrs. Weasley had knitted him a scarf, the twins had given him some of their trick trinkets, Ginny and Ron had gotten together and got him a chess set, Hermione got him a book on Quidditch, Remus and Tonks got him a couple shirts and Luna had drawn him some pictures.
"I wasn't sure what you would want so . . . " Luna began to explain.
"No." Harry said cutting her off. He looked up at her with a huge smile. "They are wonderful pictures. You are a really great artist."
"Can I see?" Ron asked.
Harry handed over the pictures and they got passed around so that everyone could see them. There was a couple of just Harry, one of Harry and Sirius and one of Harry, Ron, Ginny, Hermione and Luna.
After presents they had cake and talked, but as much as Harry loved everyone and what they were doing he needed a few minutes alone. He excused himself and went outside.
About ten minutes later he heard someone else come up next to him. They stood there for a little while longer until Harry looked over and saw who had followed him.
"So did you enjoy today?" Luna asked.
"Absolutely. It was my best birthday yet."
"I'm glad. Did you really like the pictures or were you just being nice?"
"Of course I really liked the pictures. Like I said, you are an amazing artist." He pulled her into a hug which surprised her at first.
They stood in each others arms for a while before Luna suggested they go back inside before their friends begin to worry.
"Yeah that's probably a good idea."
They walked back inside hand in hand and Harry was thinking how lucky he was to have the great friends that he has.
