Homecoming
The feeling followed her home from school, and up to her room. It hung around her shoulders as she packed her bag and went back downstairs. It mercilessly squeezed her heart as she hugged her mother and brother and kissed her grandfather goodbye. It permeated the air as she walked past Goshinboku and into the well house.

Kagome smiled and the air that filled her lungs was fresh and satisfying again. As her friends called or nodded their greetings to her, she felt that feeling drift away. She was home.
