"Yuki!!!!" Zero bellowed with his hand out stretched to her. Yuki didn't look at him; she didn't even turn to him. She kept her back to him and waited, "Yuki, I…I love –"
Yuki interrupted, "No, Zero! Don't!"
"But –"
"No. Zero," now she turned and he saw the tears streaming down her face, "You can't say that. I'm…I'm engaged."
"But you didn't decide that yourself." He dropped his arm and stepped one foot toward her.
"That doesn't matter! I made a deal with him," she looked away from him as if ashamed, "I agreed to be his lover if he…if he showed me my past."
"But Yuki," Zero shook his head slowly; "You don't really love him…do you?"
There was a pause. Zero and Yuki gazed into each others eyes; Yuki looking for a way to escape the room and Zero searching for the answer to his question.
"Yuki," Zero whispered in a persistent manner.
Yuki's eyes ducked sorrowfully. She bowed her head in an attempt to hide her features.
"No, Zero, I don't love him," she confessed. He relaxed his posture having cleared that puzzle now onto the next. But before he asked Yuki had appeared in front and was now crushing his lips, with her own. She pulled away and wiped her tears away, "No, Zero, I love you."
"Yuki…thank you," Zero smiled and they kissed again.
Little did the sweet couple know that a furiously jealous Kaname Kuran was watching from a far.
