It was already dark when Levi left his office and the HQ of the Survey Corps. He walked slowly and it seemed a bit as if he didn't know where to go.
Finally he stopped next to a tree on a mountain. A sigh left Levi while he looked up to the stars. His thoughts weren't here; they were left in the past, on the expedition from today. The expedition in which he lost his whole squad except Eren Yeager. Petra, Olou, Erd and Gunther. The people he picked by himself. His special squad. Now every one of them was dead. Only Eren, this stupid brat, was left.
Levi felt a familiar pain in his chest and he was reminded of the day his two best friends, his "family" in the underground, died. On that day the pain was the same. It was a stabbing sort of pain, one you will always remember.
A single tear escaped Levis eyes and he wiped it away with his hand.
"Don't be a moron." he scolded himself, while he sat down. Although Levis uniform was getting dirty, he didn't mind. He could wash it.
The cold wind blew through Levis hair and his cloth as he sat there and he pulled his knees up. Much better.
Another tear escaped Levis eyes and he sighed in frustration. "Stop crying like one of those shitty and filthy brats!" he tried to say angrily although it didn't really sound angry.
"Heichou?" Levi suddenly heard a soft voice asking and he looked up, seeing Eren, this shitty brat, standing in front of him.
"Are you alright?" Eren asked and Levi raised an eyebrow, before he snapped: "What are you doing here, shitty brat?"
Eren blushed a bit [Levi thought so] and finally said: "I was wondering if you were alright. After all, you lost your whole squad today."
It was only a few seconds but Levi was puzzled. Was this brat really wondering about his health?
It seemed so, because Eren gave him a coy smile and sat then down next to him.
He didn't say a word but somehow his presence made Levi feel better.
Minutes passed by and finally Levi stood up.
"Heichou?" Eren asked puzzled and Levi snorted.
"Let's go back, brat. My uniform is filthy. I want to change into something clean as soon as possible, idiot."
After a few moments of confusion Eren stand up and smiled at his superior.
"Yes, sir. Let's go back."
Eren went ahead without thinking and a gentle smile appeared on Levis face.
"Thank you, shitty brat." He whispered before following Eren.
