"Man, I hope she keeps that dress on." Castle commented, the boys all sitting somewhere about a desk.
"Yeah." Ryan agreed. He didn't like Beckett like that but when a woman looks like that . . . whew, you gotta take notice. And who knew what Beckett had been hiding under her work clothes all this time?
"I know, did you see her ass? Awesome." Esposito cheered. Castle glared. Esposito noticed. "What's wrong Castle? You had no problems saying it.
"Yeah Castle, don't get all territorial." Ryan rolled his eys.
"Y'know she's not really his territory."
"She will be if you give her two days off, a cabin in the woods with me and two dozen bottles of some kind of alcoholic beverage." Castle promised boldly, stupidly.
"She won't be if she doesn't want to be." Ryan said honestly, sticking up for his friend. Of course, Esposito was his friend too, but he was acting like a three year old moron at the moment.
"Right," Esposito agreed without hearing what Ryan had said, "Point is, you can't get jealous."
"I'm not jealous, there's nothing to be jealous about." Castle protested.
"Sure," Esposito rolled his eyes to show just how much he cared about what Castle had to say.
"Well, it's not like she's yours either." Castle poked Esposito to make his argument stronger.
"She's not anybody's." Ryan, sticking up for Beckett again, broke into the conversation, but when the two arguing parties glared at him, Ryan meekly backed out again.
Before the two could get back into it, Kate Beckett herself walked around the corner. Ryan almost threw himself on the ground to kiss her feet because now that she'd arrived he wouldn't have to listen to the moron's anymore. The fact that she wasn't wearing the dress made him appreciate her that much more.
Of course, Castle had to ruin Ryan's blissful moment of silence by saying the oh-so intelligant, "Where's the dress?"
Beckett instantly shot back another question, "You didn't think I was going to interrogate him in it?"
"We were kind of hoping," Castle admitted, giving Esposito a not so subtle look.
With a disguisted roll of the eyes, Beckett turned away so that she didn't see what the three year olds in heart and mind morons did. First they glared, the came the sticking out of the tongue and finally the elbowing each other in the ribs, which left both of them wincing and rubbing their sides when each walked away.
Morons.
I'd love to hear what you think. The dialogue may not be exact, but I was going on memory. If anyone's interested, I'm looking for a beta.
I do not own Castle.
