Before the portals
*beep beep beep*
A hand came out of the sheets and slapped off the alarm clock which had been going off.
The hand continued to pull off the sheets and revealed a young Rick Sanchez.
He then started to count down from five on his fingers: "Five... four... three... two... one!" Then, cozy slippers appeared from the side of the dirty room. Rick steped in them, stood up and immediately, a curtain of smoke filled up the room. When the smoke vanished, Rick was in his normal clothes. A blue shirt that matched with his spikey hair and some trousers.
Then he opened his mouth, and we could see a robotic arm with a toothbrush in its hand come in from the side, which starts to brush Rick's teeth.
He looked at his watch. "Oh no! I'm not gonna be late! Dang."
As his eyes went to the side of the room, he saw the last of his books fall Into his bag. He quickly grabbed the bag and left the room to enter the kitchen.
"Morning mom." Rick said as he saw his mom. "Did you make my lunch?"
"Of course I did sweety." She said as she put down a paper bag in front of Rick. "It's the only thing you can't automate!"
"Mom! You know I'm working on it!" Rick answered as he put the deliciously smelling paper bag in his backpack. Then he swung the backpack over his shoulder and walked out of the room.
"Bye buttercup!"
"Bye mom," Rick murmures, he hated when his mom called him buttercup, what did that even mean?! A cup full of butter? A cup made of butter? A pack of butter made of cups? It doesn't make any sense!
His whole way to school went something like this, but when he arrived - way too early for his taste - he went straight to his usual spot behind the little janitors building where he met Frank, a nice fella, he always made the homework if Rick didn't feel like it. Which was almost always. ("I'm way too smart for high school")
"Hey Rick!" Frank called when he saw his friend walking up the playground. He had brown hair, a green shirt with a brown and a white-brown-ish stripe around it, blue trousers and black shoes. His head was oval shaped and he had a pointy and straight nose.
"He-he-hey, Frank!" Rick called back. "How're the kids?" He said with a playful tone in his voice. The day he met Frank, he had promised to make him laugh every day he saw him. It had worked up til now...
Frank tried to keep in his laughter -which he wasn't very good at- and then bursted into laughter. This was way too eazy, but what did you expext from two fourteen year old boys?
"The... the kids!" Frank managed to bring out over his laughter. "The kids... are fine."
When Frank was done laughing, he pulled a notebook out of his bag. "I'm assuming that you need this?" He said when he showed his homework.
"You're the best, Frank. But I actually made it this time, it was an experiment and I love doing those!" Rick replied while proudly pulling his notebook out of his bag and showing it to Frank.
"Nice, what did you have at C?" Frank asked and they walked into the school.
