Sunbeams streamed through the curtains in latin's room. a day like any other, he would get up get bathed, clothed, and lastly he would eat, before heading to school. It was a pretty standard routine for him, a practiced one if you will, but he knew not everyone in this messed up world could afford such a life.
the world of 2138 was a dark and eff'd up place, children were starving, people were working day in and day out with little to no downtime (some even succumbed to exhaustion and died by overworking themselves) for less than what used to be the minnimum wage, and possibly worst of all the air was so polluted that you couldnt walk around outside without a gas mask.
That was, at least, unless you were lucky enough to be born into a wealthy familly. Latin was one of these lucky few. When latin was born he had many medical conditions none of which, however, were to serious, lightheadedness here weak legs there. But as his family was filthy eff'n rich they never had any big problems raising him.
He was a young man around 15 years of age. While he seemed to some of the people he knew as an introvert the truth was contrary he was quite introverted but could talk on a "normal" level when he was around people he was comfortable with. he had rather short but light gray hair and blue eyes.
His familly was fairly loving and involved with their sons life which was rare among those wealthy few who lived within the domes' walls. Latin was fairly handsome or as the older girls would call him, Much to his dismay, cute. A popular and "Gifted" kid as the adults called him (why couldnt they just say smart?). he had manny friends few of which he was particularly close to. His only true friend was video games, thats right he LOVED video games along with that and a bit of TV here and there there was little else he was interested in (save for pokemon and yugioh cards).
he was an experienced or "veteran" gamer and had many online personas some of which had gained renown and fame in the online comunity. His favorite of which was arcene a human build in YGGDRASIL, with its high attack, speed, and special stats along with high tier gear powerfull skills and ability to use ice magic it was easily one of latin's favorite characters.
today however was a rather depressing day because it was the day the YGGDRASIL servers would all be shutting down. School, of course, did naught to help his gloomy attitude and he went about his day without talking much.
all that really mattered today was getting home, playing the game and seeing the world he loved so dearly off. as per usual he got to his home and went straight to his room. the servants knew better than to bother or annoy the son of their lord today as he was clearly in a bad mood and as an explenaition some of them who were involved in the gaming comunity proposed it may be about YGGDRASIL'S shutdown.
as he arived in his room he threw down his bag and went over to his console area (yes AREA) got himself hooked up and was ready to go. he booted up his system got logged into his Arcene account. arcene was one of the few human avatars that ascended to the immortal human status an extremely rare and sought out class though due to the insane requirements very few actually had the class
the immortal human was essentialy like being a normal human but with two added bonuses of the players choice which included but were not limited to (ANY ONE STAT +20, unlimited inventory, +20% item drop rate and exp gain, or a NPC Overworld follower with a level of 80 (the level could not be increased or decreased) ETC.). the two he chose were of course a +20 special and the lvl 80 follower.
for some reason he didnt expect his follower a lvl80 Guardian/Alchemist/Cleric/Fighter/trickster named shei to be there, she wielded an axe with several chunks of quartz skillfully embed within the handle. the axe itself was black seemingly made of obsidian or another dark material boasting a simple yet nevertheless intimidating design.
all of her gear as well as his were divine level equipment a rare sight indeed however one of the 4 rings she was wearing was a world item known as Armor printer. A one time use item that would take any armor equiped to the target of the spell and clone it and equip it to the user.
He never needed to use it because he had many levels in smithing and enchanting which werent in themselves seperate classes but rather skills granted for taking certain classes. So he was never in any need of gear. moving onto his armor
he wore a black cowl over a vest embroidered with traces of gold or silver here and there along the traces or outlines of the numerous buckles and pockets. Aside from this he had a scythe which in the cross section had a cross to connect the handle to the blade it had blackish metal thorns (See the scythes in Ghost007) Along with a single rose on the top left if the blade is to the right and the handle is pointing down. his last but favorite piece of armor by far was a single black glove on his left hand the glove was plain save for a sigil on the backhand area. it was a symbol not used singe a game from far back (The mark on your left hand during the "there are better places to take a nap than on the ground you know?" scene from said game) he didnt know where the symbol was from nor did he really care but he thought it looked cool AF.
It was a world item with a unique power it could generate levels from nothing albeit very slowly it could however not provide exp for exp consuming spells it also provided a +5 to all stats no matter how you looked at it it was a very cool item.
But maybe thats enough standing around for now he thought 'i want to go and kill some things' he thought so he spoke (not that it mattered) to shei saying "lets go shei for just one more dungeon bout"
he walked off and to his favorite dungeon it was a cave in the side of a mountain not a particularly high level dungeon though it still boasted high gold and item drop rates but gave no exp. He had always been very carefull as to not reveal its location or let anyone find it the dungeon boss was a level 60 demon mage with very powerfull (for its level) spells that could however only hit one target at a time and were quite easy to dodge once you practiced enough.
He with his NPC by his side stormed the dungeon easily eradicating hordes of enemies left and right. Latin loved this feeling the exhilerating rush of combat the flash colors and gleam of metal along with the sight of blood flowing from his enemies bodies. In this way one who knew him was aware he was a bit of a sadist and glutton when it came to battle and bloodshed.
He loved chaotic situations and above all was very merciless and unforgiving. In the game world if you so much as gave him the wrong look he wouldnt hesitate to put you down laughing with his maniac grin while slicing you in two. his character was infamous for this, and he had to of course hide this side of himself when RP'ing his other characters
he'd been heading through the dungeon for a while now and came across the area leading up to the door for the final boss battle. This place was guarded by 4 undead wariors all of which were level 45, they were without saying not a mach for he or shei. However something unexpected happened.
One of the undead dropped a WORLD CLASS ITEM Latin was bith extremely overjoyed and extremely pissed because yay he got a world class item which was an extremely sout out thing however he got it at the perfect time to not be able to use it (Or to put it better he could but it wouldnt do much for him as the game was ending)
The item was one of the twenty, the item known as the apple of sacrifice. What the item did was reset you back to level one taking all level-stat gains and non-special skills with it that meant while he would lose his skills like lesser strength he would keep his NPC shei.
in exchange the apple would allow you to chose 2 more bonus skills from becoming an immortal human. He decided he would use it because eh WYNAUT. he reset his level and took the ability Unlimited Inventory Space and another NPC whom he named Shai. she was similar to shei in almost every way except for some minor apearance changes colour wise and a slightly different build as a Guardian/Smith/cleric/fighter/enchantress
this way he wouldnt have to waste his levels on a crafting class as he could have shai craft things for him. He stood up to admire yet another of his masterpieces "well" he spoke to no-one "we cant just have you walking around without gear on" he had an idea. He took Armor Printer from shei ang gave it to shai he then ordered shai to use the item on shei before long they were wearing identical armors.
Latin was caught up in his wonderfull adventure that he hadnt noticed the time until now, he looked at the clock
