A/N: Here is poem number three in my collection! Hope you enjoy it! It just randomly popped in my head as I was trying to fall asleep! haha anyway, this one is a conversation between Inuyasha and Kagome about Kikyo. Kagome finally expresses her pain when Inuyasha goes to see Kikyo, and in response, Inuyasha tells her how he really feels. Sort of a sad romantic type thing...I pictured something typical of an episode...Kagome upset that Inuyasha ran off again, and Inuyasha trying to get Kagome to listen to him..blah blah blah...Anyway, I made it pretty obvious who was speaking which part, and halfway through I italicized Kagome's dialogue because instead of paragraphs, the two are sort of bantering back and forth. I wanted to point that out so no one got confused. I'll put another A/N at the part but I don't want anyone to be thrown off. FEEDBACK WOULD BE FABULOUS!! enjoy!

YOU LOVED HER FIRST

You loved her first

And I came later.

And though I try

I just can't hate her.

Kikyo,

Of soil and bone,

You run to her

And I'm alone.

It's something

I just can't explain,

My dark emotions

Cause me shame.

Inuyasha,

Can't you see?

Your love for her

Is killing me.

Kagome,

I know,

But I swore to protect her.

I said I'd never leave her side.

And I know you promised the same to me,

I know you haven't lied.

Kagome,

Those words I believed to be true,

And haven't taken for granted,

I'll always be there to protect you too,

In this feudal world, enchanted.

It's true; I'd never leave your side,

My promise feels so hollow.

Inuyasha,

I'm a stubborn fool,

You run to her,

I follow.

I follow though I know

Exactly what I'm bound to see,

And yet I don't stop hoping

That you'll look at her

And notice me.

Kagome, you don't understand!

I'm just a shard collector

You mean so much more to me

A human, not a specter.

I know the past is over

I'm trying to be strong

But it's hard to just move on

It's with HER that you belong.

Kagome, please just hear me out,

Ok, but not again

It's with YOU that I can't live without,

What about Kikyo then?
