Julia's POV

He saved me. When I touched Roman, I just knew. He was the reason I was alive today. I don't know how or why, but as surely as I breathe, he cured my cancer.

He made it perfectly clear that he didn't want anything to do with me and from what Emery was saying, he was avoiding her too. If boys weren't confusing enough, he's an alien boy, which means I'll probably never figure it out.

But that doesn't mean that I can't find someway to pay him back. I mean, I was already pro-Atrian already, now I just want to see if I can do more.

So on my first day of school, I kept my distance from the Atrians. I let Emery and Lukas show me around. I kept my mouth shut when those bigots were teasing them in the hallways. I can't believe the teachers can stand for it. It's possible though that the teachers feel the same way, but are too scared to speak in case they get fired. Sometimes I wish I was like… like Black Widow from the Avengers. Kick butt and still look good doing it.

I took a seat in English still fantasizing about black leather and knuckle sandwiches when the teacher interrupted me.

"For this assignment, I need everyone to pair up." She said.

Everyone started pairing up immediately. Neither Emery nor Lukas had this class, but 3 of the Atrians did. Drake, Teri and Sophia.

"Hey, Sophia, right, do you want a partner?" I asked quietly. Drake and Teri both were staring daggers at me so I figured I'd ask the nice one.

"Sure" she whispered back and came over to sit next to me. Trying to take up as little space as possible to stay unnoticed.

The teacher passed out the assignment. There were line from plays and a couple of movies, the goal was to identify as many as possible.

"To be or not to be," I said in my deepest Ethan Hawke impression.

Sophia laughed and changing her voice too replied "that is the question."

I smiled back saying "Number 1 - Hamlet. This is going to be easy."
