He caressed her face, looking into her eyes in complete shock.
There was no way... Sure he could see fairy's and unicorns, but never before had he been able to touch- or even see- an angel.
And that's what she was to him, an angel.
"[y/n], you're beautiful..." He whispered with a small smile.
She blushed and smiled. "Thank you Arthur. You're rather handsome yourself."
He breathed a small laugh, and leaned forward to give her a short and sweet kiss.
She smiled shyly at the kiss.
He smiled and dropped his hand back to his side, his fingers gently stroking her smooth skin as he did so.
"Good night, [y/n]. I hope to see you again soon." He said gently.
"Good night Arthur." She said with a smile as he walked away.
He started across the road with out looking, and [y/n] watched him walk away to his car.
And that's when it happened.
Everything seemed to slow down as the car attempted to stop itself from hitting the British man.
He stood, frozen in spot.
"Arthur!" She cried, dropping her bag and running towards the road.
She jumped out towards Arthur, and pushed him out of the way, only... only to get run over herself.
"[y/n]!" Arthur gasped, running over to the mangled body and dropping to his knees beside her.
The broken girl gave a weak smile up to her date.
"[y-y/n].." He whispered.
She shakily reached an arm up to touch his face, and then dropped her hand back down after a few moments.
"Goodbye, Arthur.." She breathed, slowly closing her eyes.
"[y/n]!" He cried as her heart stopped.
It had been months since her death- but Arthur was still holed up, upset over the whole thing. He blamed himself that [y/n] had died.
"Arthur..." A soft voice whispered to the depressed Brit.
He looked up and around- to see nothing.
He turned slowly to face straight ahead- and there he saw her.
His angel.
He stood up, and caressed her cheek, looking into her eyes in shock.
Sure, he saw fairy's and unicorns, but never had he seen a real angel before
"[y/n].." He whispered.
She smiled at the British man and nodded.
"Yes. And I am here to tell you Arthur- it's not your fault. I chose to die for you."
She smiled wider at the Brit's shocked expression as she took a solid form.
"[y/n].."
She placed a finger over his lips to silence him with a small 'sh...'
"I convinced them to allow me to come back for a day Arthur. Let's make the best of it."
Arthur grinned and nodded.
Time slowed- and there she stood, a car barreling straight towards her.
The driver didn't seem to see her, either.
"[Y/N]!" He cried, lunging forward to shove her out of the way.
THUD!
She sat on the other side of the road, hands covering her mouth in shock and tears brimming at her eyes.
Arthur's ghost rose- and smiled at her.
"Don't worry." He whispered.
He pointed at himself as he said the last words she would ever hear from him.
"Died for you..."
He died, so she could live. He was alive- they could have reunited in heaven- but he chose to give his life to her.
