"I need your help," Garcia said, rushing into Reid's apartment unexpectedly. It was fall of 2011, and Garcia was positively sure she wasn't about to sit around at home and hand out candy to kids who got to have more fun than her.

"Oh. With what, exactly?" Reid asked, jerking upright on his couch. A heavy book fell to the floor.

"What are your Halloween plans?" Garcia demanded, gently pushing his legs aside and sitting beside him, laptop in hand.

"Plans?" he stuttered. "I was planning a night of homage to Peter Jackson, who was born on Halloween in 1961."

"Reid, no. You can't watch countless hours of Lord of the Rings. That's not a celebration." Garcia insisted.

"Actually, I was going to watch with commentary, without commentary, and then read the books, including The Hobbit to get what Jackson left out of the original stories," Reid said, his eyes bright with excitement.

"Okay. Well, I was thinking of something more like this," Garcia explained, opening her laptop to reveal a list of quirky Halloween celebrations that perfectly encompassed Garcia and Reid's love for all things creepy. "There's the Zombie Walk on Saturday, or…well…we'll probably be busy for the Drag Queen Race on Tuesday, but there are plenty of weekend events. The Wizards in the Kitchen event where we can dress like our favorite wizard or magical creature! Or we could learn all the moves from the Thriller video!" Garcia enthused.

"I'm not dancing," Reid interjected. "The more accurate statement would be that I'm physically incapable of dancing. But did I see a History Haunt and a Vampire Jazz night? Those I would attend with you in a heartbeat!"

"All right. Well I think we need to do the Zombie Walk for sure!" Garcia said. "We'd regret not doing that."

"Oh, definitely," Reid agreed.

"And you pick the other thing," Garcia urged.

"Were there psychics at that wizard cooking event?" Reid asked skeptically, leaning in.

"And tarot card readings," Garcia added.

"I do have this cave troll costume I've been wanting to try out," he mused.

"Sounds like a plan, then," Garcia smiled. "I knew I could count on you."

"Of course," Reid smiled. "You can always count on me."

The End.
