Mika Sohma sighed once again as she looked down the street. She was supposed to be meeting two of her friends at the bus station. They had promised that they wouldn't be late. But here she was waiting for close to 45 minutes and not so much as a phone call or text message was thrown her way. To top it all off, it had started to rain 20 minutes ago and she had no umbrella. She was soaking wet and extremely pissed.
Another 10 minutes passed and still no sign of them, she decided that it would probably be faster to walk. She hoisted her bag over her shoulder and started off down the sidewalk. It seemed like the sky wanted to spite her, because as soon as she left the loading dock it started to rain harder.
"Thanks." She shouted angrily at the sky while brushing her wet bangs out of her face. They didn't want to stay and that only intensified her anger at the whole situation.
She walked faster in hopes that she could get home quicker. The first thing she was going to do was take a hot and long shower to try to keep the chill off her body. She sneezed suddenly and that made her feel so much worse. The last thing she needed was to be getting sick on top of all this.
Yoshiro and Ryuu were so going to pay dearly for this, Mika would see to that. She sneezed again and this time a harsh cough followed it. She could feel her body getting weaker but she needed to get home so she pressed on.
She came to an intersection a few minutes later. The hand was up but there were no cars around. So she stepped off the curb and started across. The next thing she knew was a bright light. Her rational mind told her to move but she was so paralyzed by fear.
The next feeling she had was weightlessness. This only lasted for a few seconds and then pain racked her body. It felt like a million spiders were on her. It was everywhere. The only thing that kept her conscious was the fact that she had to be somewhere. But where?
Her hold on consciousness was fading fast. She could feel it and she welcomed the sweet pull of the unknown. It had to be better than here. The last thing she saw was a bright light shining in her eyes before complete darkness.
