Chapter 1: Prologue
Cygnus watched Ereve's treasure glow under the moonlit night. Cygnus Knights patrolled the area continuously every day and night to assure that the jewel isn't stolen. A large bird watched as the empress fondly looked at the jewel, amazed by its mystifying properties.
"Cygnus…. It's late." The large bird spoke. The night was silent as if the wind blew them all away. "I know Shinsoo. But the skaia is so beautiful. I've been having bad dreams about it." Cygnus replied, a mix of awe and fear in her voice. Shinsoo's eyes opened, alert. "What?! And you haven't told me yet?!" Shinsoo asked, more fiercely that she intended. Cygnus turned to face the bird. "Ever since I resurrected you, I've been having dreams of the skaia glowing dark and Ereve falling. Mass chaos; a nightmare that persists every night." Cygnus explained. Shinsoo looked at the young empress with observant eyes. "There's more isn't it?" Shinsoo asked, hoping to encourage Cygnus to tell more. Cygnus looked at Shinsoo's concerned eyes, then quickly looked once more into the glowing jewel. "It's late." Cygnus said abruptly, hoping to divert the conversation away. She stood up and turned to the direction leading the the palace. Shinsoo nodded and tried to drift off to sleep until, "Shinsoo." Cygnus said, an edge in her voice. Shinsoo was surprised. The empress never did that. "You are not to speak of this to anyone. I do not wish to incur a panic. We have enough troubles as it is." Cygnus said, not facing Shinsoo. "Of course empress." Shinsoo replied, reverence in her tone. Cygnus smiled to herself and said "Thank you."
As soon as the young empress walked back to the palace. Shinsoo opened one eye. "Phantom, I know you're there." She said. A chuckle was heard as the wind blew leaves to the northern direction. "You always know huh?" The voice said. Phantom walked into the light of the moon, showing his pristine outfit, an admiral's tunic donned in white with gold trimmings, his esteemed hat, and black pants with matching gold trimmed black boots. Of course he has a deck of cards and cane to fight just in case.
"I heard it all. I'll tell Evan about this. I heard he got some of Freud's old books back." Phantom said. "Alright Phantom. Thank you. Also, tell Luminous to help Evan. I think there's a hint of Black Magic here." Shinsoo suggested. Phantom nodded and cards enveloped him suddenly, and vanished without a trace. Shinsoo closed her eyes and fell to sleep.
