Daine was taking a painting class. She wasn't sure who had talked her in to it, but someone had.

"Okay, for our first lesson we are going to do things a little bit differently," the teacher told her class in a singsong way. "You aren't going to be able to see what you are painting. I have noticed that you young painters often focus too much on the sight portion of the painting. My assistant here will be coming around with the blind folds."

Daine groaned. Whichever of her friends had suggested this teacher obviously had never taken her. But she shrugged and put on the blind fold.

"Now I know some of you have special powers, and I want you to use those to their full extent. Smell, listen, and then paint."

Daine carefully shaped her nose it to that of a hyena. She could smell cotton, and silk. A bunch of roses. Her nose was painting pictures for her. She changed her nose back and then changed her ears into some more like a bat. She could hear everything. Grinning she picked up her paint brush and began to paint.

After she had finished she removed the blindfold and gasped. The painting had turned out better than anything she could have hoped.

The teacher came and stood by her shoulder. "I Hoped you would use your powers. This is amazing."

As Daine packed up her bag and the teacher walked away Daine couldn't help but smile to herself and wonder what they would learn tomorrow.
