Here is a list of what happened to the anime characters that survived their series.
Ed Elric died by lung cancer, he was emotionally unstable after the first and only movie and started smoking.
Ed's brother Al died because Ed was high when Al was left out in the rain and was unable to stop him from rusting.
Naruto died a very painful death after getting throat cancer. Apparently that's what happens if you say "Believe it" to much.
The gothic leprechaun from Yu Yu hakusho died by a freak hamster incident, Hiei was small enough for the hamster to eat him. Yes, another painful death.
Kurama died by many events, firstly he sat on the big thorn whip thingy,
then by a genetic disease caused by roses. Then a jaguar who mistook the red haired menace as Ed Elric and ate his flesh.
Then one of my favorites Inuyasha died by ear mites and he sat on one of those purple crystal thingy's and died of butt infection.
Then (and don't hurt yourselves fan girls) Kagome was killed by Eowyn who was trying to get to Inuyasha who had not died yet.
Sesshomaru was shopping in a random downtown mall when the escalator caught his fluffy and choked him to death.
Sesshomaru's pet frog thing was ran over by a new dodge ram(at least i think its a frog...)
