"It's been two months, Dean. How long can we keep meeting this way," Cas asked, resenting the distraction that Dean's hands were providing.

"As long as somebody finds out," Dean said, matter-of-factly, pulling Cas closer. "And get rid of the coat, already."

"Dean," Cas pleaded, pouting a little for effect and pushing Dean's hands away.

"What do you want me to do?" Dean asked, giving up, his hands releasing Cas and falling to his own sides.

"Introduce me to your dad," Cas answered immediately.

He had already thought it through. He was very nervous to meet the old hunter. He had heard a lot about him from other angels. Supposedly short-tempered and introverted, John wouldn't be too happy meeting his son's boyfriend. He had already accepted Dean being gay but having a boyfriend was another story. Nevertheless, Cas really wanted to meet John. He believed he could persuade him to be comfortable with this arrangement.

Dean sighed, moving to sit on the hood of the Impala. Dean had invited Cas to meet him in an abandoned field. He had first met Cas while on a case with Sam. Their dad had sent them on it. It was a high level case up in Heaven and Cas had been sent to take care of it. It was an absolute coincidence that Dean and Cas ran into each other. Angels weren't even supposed to reveal their identity to humans. But somehow, Dean saw him. He was shining like a beacon, how could Dean not. It sounded cheesy and lame even in his brain but Cas had been the guiding light when Dean thought they were losing the fight. Wow, Dean had even managed to make that rhyme.

But Cas meeting John. No, no, no! Just no! He couldn't face that. He just couldn't.

He looked at Cas, giving him his best glare. Cas returned it with the most innocent look, his blue eyes wide. Dean ran a hand over his face. It was the perfect catch twenty two.

"Fine," Dean said, jumping off the hood to sit inside the car. "Tomorrow at five."

"Okay," Cas said, his face breaking into a grin which instantly wiped off as he saw Dean settling in the driver's seat. "But where are you going?"

"Home," Dean replied, looking ahead.

"Why?"

"Because talking about my dad turns me off."

"Dad?" Dean ventured, looking at his dad work.

"Yes, Dean," John said, never looking up from the computer.

"I've someone I'd like you to meet. Dad, this is Cas," he said in one breath.

"I'm not working with other hunters, Dean," John said, giving Dean a you-know-that look.

"Wha-No, dad! He's not a hunter. He's an angel… And my boyfriend," Dean said, ending in a low voice hoping John wouldn't hear the last words.

John looked up sharply.

"I'm pleased to meet you, Mr. Winchester," Cas said, moving out from Dean's protective stance and holding out his hand.

Cas tried to extend the warmth of grace to calm John.

It worked.

"Well, I knew you were gay but that's no way to introduce your boyfriend," John said, taking Cas' hand.

"What?! No. Dad, he's literally an angel," Dean said, grimacing. "From Heaven," he added as an afterthought.

"Oh," John said, simply, getting up slowly on his feet.

He grabbed the edge of the table as if to balance.

"N-nice to meet you too, son-I mean, Cas- Or! Or, whatever, you know, that is short for," John said, taking Cas' hand with more respect.

Cas smiled shyly. He saw where Dean got his habits from.

By eight, John, Dean, Sam and Cas were settled around the dinner table with takeaway pizza and bottles of beer. John had really warmed to Cas, sometimes agreeing with him more than with his sons.

The room had never known such happiness.
