Crazy about Lupo
Here is the sequel to Confiding in a New Friend that so many of you have been asking for. I am dedicating this one to everyone who asked for the the sequel.
Zane asks Jo out to dinner, what will she say? Read it and find out.

Zane had been thinking about his conversation with Andy. Maybe Andy was right about Lupo. Maybe she had gotten to know him and maybe she did like him now. And, maybe he should ask her out again. Or, maybe he was crazy to even think about it.
He looked up from his desk to see Jo walking by. She nodded at him and continued walking. He'd noticed that she walked by less often since he'd mentioned it while she was in the infirmary. He actually missed her hourly visits. Oh yeah, he was crazy alright, crazy about Lupo.
He groaned at himself and got up. He might as well get this over with. He walked out of the lab and headed the way she had gone. He only hoped that this time things went different. He really couldn't afford to spend anymore time in a jail cell. It would put him even more behind on his projects.
He saw her up ahead and walked a little faster to catch up to her. "Hey Lupo, wait up."
Jo turned when she heard Zane call her name. "Look Zane, I wasn't walking by to check up on you, I had to walk by to get back to my office. So you don't have to tell me to back off again."
He held his hands up. "Hey, I wasn't going to say that. I really just wanted to ask you something."
She looked surprised, but nodded. "Okay, what did you want to ask me?"
He took a second to gather his courage. "I was wondering if maybe you'd like to, you know, um have dinner with me?"
Jo just stood there staring at him. "You want me to have dinner with you?"
"Yeah, I want you to have dinner with me. So, what do you say?" He asked her, afraid that she'd get mad at him like last time.
She thought about it for a second longer. "When did you plan on this dinner?"
He thought that she was just trying to torture him by prolonging the moment before she said no. "I don't know, tonight or tomorrow night?"
She still wasn't ready to believe he really wanted to have dinner with her, but she'd give him a chance to prove her wrong. "Okay."
Now he was the one in shock. "Okay? You'll have dinner with me?" He asked her in shock.
"Yes Zane, I'll have dinner with you. You can pick me up at eight tonight." She told him and smiled for the first time since he stopped her.
He smiled back. "Okay then, I'll be at your place at eight...well Sheriff Carter's house."
She nodded. "And I'll be ready. Well, I had better get back to my office." She said.
"Yeah, I have to get back to work too. I'll see you at eight Lupo...Jo." He corrected himself.
"I'll see you at eight Zane." She said as she turned and headed towards her office.
Zane smiled and headed back to the lab. Okay, so maybe he wasn't crazy after all. He had a dinner date tonight with Jo Lupo. She'd actually said yes to him. He walked into his lab with a huge smile on his face. He was a very happy man as he got back to work.
