**Smile**
"I Synchro Summon Junk Warrior!"
"I reveal my facedown card!"
The crowd was cheering, roaring like a pride of lions as the two turbo duelists raced across then track, the illusions of their cards appearing before everyone's eyes.
Akiza felt a smile play on her lips. She fought the reaction initially, but as the duel progressed, it grew and grew until she could no longer hold it in anymore, losing herself to the cheering, her own voice raised, hand to the sky, rooting for him.
Yusei was an excellent duelist. No, not just excellent, Akiza thought. He was elegant.
It was like watching a dance. As the wheels of his duel runner burned against the road, rubber rolling on asphalt, he practically flew, like riding the wind. Every part he knew, all hand built and tenderly placed. Each part planned carefully.
But that wasn't all, she remarked, it wasn't his bike he knew and graced across the battlefield. The way he pulled each card out, three sliding each card out, there was trust and confidence in every stroke. It was like he trusted, believed in his card, in his friends.
In her.
She caught the thought before it evolved into anything further. Focusing again on the duel, she frowned, watching as Yusei's life points were sapped away. However, he didn't look concerned. He, instead, hollered a compliment at Leo, the young back seat rider on Crow's duel runner. Leo boasted in response, but Crow shot him a glimpse of reality, reminding him this was practice duel and to not get it to his head.
Looking around, Akiza looked at all the faces of the crowd. Residents of the slums continued to cheer, chanting Yusei's name. A crowd of kids yelled at Crow in turn, in awe of his skill to drive.
Not as good as Yusei, of course, Akiza reminded herself, Yusei was on a different level. He made turbo dealing look like an art.
She actually found herself laughing as well. With a playful smirk, Yusei spun his duel runner around, driving literally backwards. How he did that she didn't know, but then again, he was so full of tricks that she couldn't help the smile on her face as he pulled a card out of his deck, calling out a spell card, and just like that, the duel ended, with Yusei the winner.
Akiza was one of the first to run up to the winner, smiling the entire way. Yusei turned to her, a smile on his own face, and they embraced.
Sometimes just watching him smile had her smile all the more.
Just a crappy little one-shot. Not very good at writing for Yu-Gi-Oh, but I hope I can improve so I can give OCValk a better one-shot to her favorite pairing.
