I found this in an old notebook today, so here you are. Anyone reading this is likely to be a Janto shipper, (why else would you be here?), and if so, I was just wondering about other people's reactions to episode 3 of the new season.. *angry-face*. Anyway, I guess I'll shut up about my own personal frustrations, and let you read.. =)
Ianto leaned over the long polished table, unobtrusively proffering a tray of steaming coffees. He kept his eyes lowered, but he saw Jack's gaze flicker down to the cups, and his firm, browned hand selected a mug. Turning away to offer the tray to Gwen, Ianto had to hide a smile as he watched, from the corner of his eye, as Jack's nimble fingers detach the small scrap of paper from the side of his coffee and peruse it. All it took was a moment, and the next the note was hidden, somewhere in the recesses of Jack's long coat.
After the meeting, Ianto held the door open as the team filed out of the room, Jack last of all.
"Take care of it, Jones," was all he said, never meeting Ianto's eyes.
"Yes, sir." Ianto watched him disappear around the corner, then quickly withdrew that same bit of paper, which had somehow or other transferred itself into his vest pocket. In his own small, typewriter-like handwriting, it read, "I keep that stopwatch on me night and day."
With trembling fingers, Ianto flipped the paper over. On the other side were scrawled just four words, the last two underlined for emphasis: "My office – ten minutes."
Ianto allowed himself the smallest of smiles, and started the stopwatch. That was ten minutes – and counting.
