A/N: This SYOT was originally going to be co-authored by my friend, Saku-Ryaku, and I. However, Saku has other priorities *cough* and is lazy *cough* so it is now just yours truly writing it. Don't worry; I'm not going to give up on this story too. =) So thank you for all those people who submitted tributes and are sticking with me and are still going to read this story. All tributes are in, and I'm sorry if you submitted one and it isn't in here. There were some hard decisions to make when deciding, let me tell you that. I shall put the list of accepted tributes at the bottom of this chapter.

President Pomming walked on stage, bright lights blinding her. Her dress seemed to be made of pink feathers, which complimented her pale purple skin. The audience went crazy, everyone clapping and screaming. They all went silent when she reached the microphone.
'Good morning Capitol! This day marks the beginning of very exciting times to come. It has been 13 years since the Capitol proved its superior power over the rebelling districts.' Pomming paused until the applause was over.
'To celebrate this achievement on the Capitol's side, and to remind the districts their rightful place in Panem, the Hunger Games were formed.' Cheers erupted from the audience again.
'I am awfully excited, as this is my first Hunger Games as President, after being elected 5 months ago. I have handpicked the game makers, and selected the arena myself. These Hunger Games are going to be the best in Panem's history.' She beamed at the audience, and although it was a smile which didn't reach her eyes, nobody seemed to notice with the applause louder than ever.
'Today, 24 children in Panem are going to be selected for the chance to win eternal glory. Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favour!'
