Pairing: Spock/Uhura/Kirk

Summary: It's what friends do. They share.
"The logic is flawless," Spock repeated, his face bland and his voice even. He was even standing straight, as he often did, his hands joined behind his back.
Uhura was truly the Yin to Spock's Yang, with her hands balled up against her thighs, her entire face frowning with her anger, her whole body quivering with the emotion. "Your logic," she ground out, "needs to be rewired."
"I have been considering this for some time. I have even researched similar circumstances, dating back thousands of years ago-"
"The times have changed."
"Regardless, I can find no fault in his suggestion."
Captain Kirk was sprawled in the Captain's chair, as was his place, slouched so that he was in danger of falling out, his legs spread as wide as the grin on his face.
"I can find several," Uhura practically spat.
"At least hear him out," Kirk said, slowly turning the chair back and forth by pushing on the floor with his toes.
Spock paused to make sure that Uhura would let him speak, before he said, "It's what friends do."
Uhura narrowed her eyes, as if daring him to continue.
Spock failed to see the warning. "They share."
Uhura's eyes landed on Kirk. "You did this."
"I merely pointed out that friends share, ahem, everything. He came to this conclusion all on his own."
"It is the truth," Spock agreed.
"I don't believe this," Uhura said, throwing her hands up in the air.
"Believe it, sister," Kirk gloated, leaning forward. "Your boyfriend just gave you permission to f-"
"Never," Uhura hissed.
"Allow me to clarify," Spock said. "I never said that you had to copulate with him." Kirk groaned and sat back in his chair, covering his eyes with his hand as Spock spoke. "Only that should you decide to do so, you would have my consent and support."
Uhura stared at Spock as if he had sprouted another head. Spock blinked at her, waiting for a response. Kirk crossed his fingers and held his breath.
Something in Uhura's head clicked, and she switched into mental auto-pilot. "You're sick, aren't you?" She took the few steps to Spock, placing her hand on his forehead.
"My body temperature is normal," Spock told her.
"No, you're sick," Uhura insisted. "Some sort of space sickness. I'll go get McCoy." Without looking back or asking her Captain to be dismissed, she ran to and out the door.
Spock stared at the door for a moment before saying, "That didn't go as planned."
Kirk's head snapped up and his grin reappeared on his face. "Its fine," he said, standing and clapping Spock on the shoulder. "It'll work out."
"But, she didn't-"
"Sometimes," Kirk said, turning Spock to the door and guiding him out of it, "things like this take time. And now that it's in her head, she won't be able to stop thinking about it, and eventually…" Kirk refrained from finishing his thought, simply waving his hand as if to illustrate his point.
"I… see," Spock said, clearly not seeing but not wishing to admit defeat.
"You still have much to learn, my apprentice," Kirk said with a nod of his head. "And next time, we'll introduce alcohol into the mix."
"I'm not sure I can approve of that kind of variable."
"Hush," Kirk said. "You're ruining the start of a beautiful friendship."
