Fire Emblem: Awakening
Premonition: Invisible Ties
Ben's POV
I watched from under my hood as Chrom lunged, Swinging Falchion at Validar, who stepped back, avoiding two swings then blocking a third with his magic. Chrom stepped back to get a better swing, and Validar started charging his spell. I raised my hand into my area of vision and started charging up a fire spell. Validar vanished just as I was about to throw it
"Up there!" Chrom shouted, pointing towards the ceiling, where Validar had just appeared.
"You fool! Die!" Validar shouted, throwing his spell into the ground and I was sent backwards by the shock wave. I launched my spell, but he vanished again. He slammed Chrom with a spell, sending him flying into a pillar. Before Chrom could recover enough to move, Validar launched another spell. I launched a fire spell, deflecting Validar's magic into another pillar. Before I could attack him directly, he vanished again reappearing halfway across the room.
"This is it! Our final battle! You're one of us, Ben, and no 'destiny' can change that. Now let's kill this dastard and be done with it!" Chrom shouted, and we ran towards Validar.
"Ben, we have to get closer!" Chrom shouted, dodging a magic blast.
"Ha ha ha, why do you resist?" Validar cackled as he threw another blast of magic.
Chrom charged at Validar, Falchion at the ready.
"Gya ha ha! Fools! Struggle all you want! You cannot unwrite what is already written!" Validar shouted, but Falchion bit deep into his shoulder. Before he could strike back, I launched my fire magic, striking the dark sorcerer in the face, sending him reeling. The darkness started to swallow him up.
Validar collapsed. "This isn't over... Damn you BOTH!" He screamed, rising and launching one last blast of dark energy. I pushed Chrom out of the way, and there was a flash of light. I hit the floor.
Chrom ran to me. "Are you all right?" he asked. He pulled me into a sitting position. "That's the end of him." I looked at where his body lay. The dark aura vanished. "Thanks to you we carried the day." I looked into his face. "We can rest easy now." I looked down, and suddenly my head throbbed, and I saw red. "At long last... What's wrong?" The throbbing came again, stronger this time, and I saw red again, with veins of darker red there too. "Hey, hang on- *urk*" I felt my arm move without me telling it too and Chrom's eyes went wide. He staggered back. "This is not your- your fault... Promise me... you'll escape from this place..." I saw a blade of magic sticking out of his stomach. "Please, go..." He collapsed, and I heard a dark chuckling as everything went dark.
