Hello! This particular story I made in my writing class….. So hopefully it should be pretty good. Tell me what you think!
My best friends name is Alice.
We both work for one of the largest commercial companies in the world- Umbrella Corporation. Alice is head of security at a secret high tech facility called the Hive. Almost 100 feet underground, this base serves as a place to use experiment and test biological weaponry.
It's a good thing they hired her for the job, too. She can be mercilessly mean and aggressive, but has a more social business like side. We were heading back from the gym and I was driving. Alice decided to strike up a conversation.
"How's Chris?" I looked at her, then back to the road.
"He's great. We just got back from our trip only a couple days ago. Can you believe we've been together for over two years? That- that's crazy! I never would have thought we would have stuck to each other, but I guess we really are soul mates!" Alice smiled.
"I'd stick with him. He treats you well." I nodded and pulled into the driveway of Chris and I's two bedroom apartment. Alice grabbed her gym clothes bag, and followed me up the steps. The door was unlocked, so I figured that Chris must have already gotten home from his work.
"Want something to eat?" Alice took off her jacket and hung it on the coat rack.
"Naw I'm good." I looked at her shoulder as she stretched out on the living room couch. I picked out a crystal glass from the top row of the shelf on my cupboard, and filled it with ice and water. As she turned to her left, I noticed something.
"Alice, what's that on your shoulder?" she didn't make eye contact as I walked closer to her for a better look.
"I got my blood drawn." There were five pinpricks in a circular form. It looked like a self-injected drug of some sort. It hadn't been there when I saw her last. Alice looked at me, and I could tell her facial expression had definitely changed.
Is there something you need to tell me?" I said in a dry voice. Alice shook her head defiantly.
"If there was I already would have told you, Jilly Bean."
"I'm trying to be serious with you right now. My name is Jill, and I think you need to tell me something." Alice looked visibly agitated.
"Tell me."
"Classified. And besides, it's too dangerous to tell you. Or anyone."
"It's not like I'm gonna go scream it to the world or anything. Just tell me." Alice sighed.
"Umbrella is testing on me." I scowled.
"That is illegal. What are they injecting you with?"
"The T Virus." When she said about knocked me off my feet. The perspiration from the glass and surprise of what Alice had told me made the glass slip from my hand, and shatter upon impact of the wooden floor.
"Have you any idea what that virus is made for?" I yelled. "It could have the potential to make the dead rise! It could kill you! Or worse! What could they possibly need it for with you?"
"To make me stronger…" Alice's face now had a darker hint to it. "Exceptional agility, super strength, the ability to make other bleed just by looking at them… I am more powerful than I ever have been in my whole life. You better not tell anyone, Jill." It sounded more like a threat than anything else.
Jill?" Chris was at the top of the stairs, looking down at us.
"You better not have heard anything, Chris!"
